  1. All this makes a game, sound more like a job… I just don't understand it. I love the game. as a game… but I fear I am going to be garbage in the long haul for team stuff because, all this just sounds like job… is that so wrong of me?

  2. I just picked up FF14 coming from WoW. I am so glad I found your channel. I cannot find the words to express how much your content helped me as a new player. Especially when it comes to mentality between the games. Slowing down and playing the game for the story and learning how to play BRD along the way has made my experience so far so rewarding and so much more fun then I have in WoW these days.

  3. One of the best ways to improve if you're not doing it already is ABC. Always be Casting. FFXIV, once you get all your abilities gives you lots of tools GCDs and oGCDs to weave in between them. This is why the long GCD is good. But even without doing that, just make sure you are always pressing a button, if you're a healer, if no one needs attention, do some damage, even if it's only 1 Assize, as they say, every little helps. This also helps you learn your rotation or priority system.

  4. I aggree that actions should be taken against poeple being mean to others from damage meters and all that, but that all "not saying you should but you could but shouldn't but you knoooow" situation is kinda ridiculous.

  5. I picked up Dancer yesterday, after having played only caster & healer before, it was a bit tricky to pick up & play, but well worth the investment, I still don't fully get the rotation, but it's smoother than I thought it would be.

  6. I don't get the stigma around dps meters in ff14 ive used them in wow for the longest to better my rotation and gear progression as a semi hard-core player. I get people can be dicks about it but we are talking a fairly small amount of players

  7. The stick to a class and care about a class are very very good points.
I used to be a strict astro main, and practically refused to play Whm or Sch. I leveled them, but wouldn't do anything with them

People I frequently talk to kept bashing on Sch for being the "bad healer" this and that. So I learned it out of spite
I went from completely hating the playstyle and heal style, to now being a full time Scholar main. It's weird to think about, but at the same time… I'm glad I found my place as a Sch. As an Astro I felt like I was always competing.

  8. I played tera online before ff14 and I actually got pissed of by people who didn't do enough dmg becaushe of the simple fact, that dungeon entries were restricted. The restriction gave you a feeling that you have to play every day and if people weren't doing enough dmg you weren't fast enough to do all dungeons after a work day, making everyone somewhat toxic. Thank god you don't have that pressure in ff14

  9. The problem with guides is they are allover the place, many out of date and many are parody's. From a beginner standpoint most assume you already know what they are talking about and just start using in game lingo that makes no sense for a first timer. Or the guides assume you are max level and they are just about fine tuning for raids and not how to not suck at the most basic levels.

  10. I recently started playing FF14 (coming from WoW) and I'm finding the way that people talk about addons really confusing.
I use a lot of addons in WoW. Should I be using them in FF14 or not? Does using addons violate ToS? Is there a risk of being banned for using addons?

  11. There is no such thing as a “BEST” player. Sounds more like a screw you buddy than a game. This is why I stopped tanking in wow. Too many more people telling you you suck when they have no clue how to play a tank.

  12. im really happy i found your channel! i recently got back into ffxiv after taking a long break (been playing since ARR started but i have taken several long breaks and i'm still in the post-base pre-heavensward content ^^; ) so i often have a hard time getting back into the game since im so behind. but youre really pleasant to listen to and watch.

  13. Should change the titel too 6 ways to improve your raiding. Not everyone wants to raid so it can be missleading to some. If you are not competing on highest difficulty using a rotation should not be mandatory. But thats just my opinion

  14. Parsing is 100% perfectly acceptable for ToS as long as it stays out of game: no UI integration, etc. Talking about them is not a punishable offense. Being a jerk (with or without referencing someone's DPS) is a punishable offense. Even without parsing, if you just know the team's DPS is low, and your are a jerk about it, you can be punished. Again, this is about being a jerk – not the tools/means used to be a jerk.

  15. Im a Thaumaturge, and most of what I have read wants me to open with fire, but wouldn't it be better to open with thunder and then go to fire? Im not losing anything, but the time it takes to cast one spell. I've only been in the first 3 story dungeons and find them terrifying.

  16. I don't understand why they don't add DPS/HPS and damage taken meters to / high end content / where it's actually relevant information. They should totally keep it banned for casual content because it really just breeds an unnecessary elitist atmosphere when used in low end content, but surely letting people see what they're doing wrong and right at the highest ends of the spectrum should be encouraged.
