Yoshi-P is Adding Savage Alliance Raids in FFXIV Next Patch



Yoshi-P just announced in an interview with PCgamesn that we will get a Savage 24 Man Raid in Patch 7.1 of Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail. Yoshi-P also said that normal Alliance raids will be harder than in Endwalker and that the DPS check for Patch 7.2 Savage Raids will be much more tighter than the previous savage tier. This is Xeno’s reaction to all the news (and also an important request regarding NA and EU dc travel).

  1. I just can't trust anything YoshiP says. He just yaps and yaps with PR phrases and non-committed answers that sound nice but mean nothing. Mistranslation or not it's just a whole lot of nothing burger here. Can't tell if they are just so damn out of touch or just don't care anymore.

  2. Xeno i love you to death but i think your opinion is sometimes kind of blind to other peoples experience compared to yours.

    Your approach to alliance raids is fuck it who cares if you skip mechanics etc. because youre mainly a savage raider and so it doesnt matter to you but for the majority of players in the game that dont even touch savage content the alliance raid experience is their epic big end game raid, so they should try to carefully consider the item levels so we dont run into a situation where the literal 12 gods of the game get folded like wet paper 2 weeks after release.

    This issue though, like many other issues with lower difficulty content could be so easily solved if all duties were synced to min ilvl by default so every run is the same experience as the week 1 experience is imo.

  3. Remember, 24 man savage isnt going to be the same difficulty as normal raid savage. And it shouldnt be for that amount of players. Because it's a harder version of easy casual content, they're on a different scale. It's probably closer to being under Trial extreme. Which honestly, would be as midcore as possible. Something that isn't baby difficulty that you instant clear but something you don't have to prog for several days either.

  4. NA/EU DC travel? Motherfucker I want the current region locked DC travel alone to burn down and never rear its ugly head again until we somehow get a cross-DC PF solution.

    ??? Everyone does? The fuck is the point of adding mechanics and shit if you just skip right through it? Just like how now the most iconic thing about the first 24 man in Endwalker, the scales mechanic, now just gets skipped every single time because the item level is scaled too high. I know you don't care about it because it doesn't make you shit your pants in terms of difficulty, but skipping mechanics or not matters. Otherwise why work on any of it? Press button kill boss skip the whole fight who cares. Go to the theater and skip the movie so you can get to the end. Hardcore skipper mentality

  6. I don't want cross region travel till they fix the congestion issues. What's the point of being able to travel if every server on Aether is ALWAYS congested so you can't even get in. My friends who are on Primal can't visit it half the time even though the travel system is already there for them.

  7. Skipping mechanics in week 1 its an issue for Alliance Raids. It means that there is a possibility that they designed something players won't see and therefore, a waste of time and resources.

  8. 24-player savage would be hell in pf. Late Night just stopped doing BA a few months ago, leaving us with almost no options on Chaos to clear it, and forcing people to data center travel to Light. DRS is a mess as well.

    Regarding cross region travel, we can already visit Oceania, so it's not a big seal for devs to implement. I guess they just don't want everyone to flock to one server to be able to find a party. Just like Chaos high-end duty pf is dead, I'm afraid the whole EU is gonna die out even without taking a better latency into consideration, because there are simply more people on NA region.

    Roughly translates into 3 cheap "gotcha" mechanics you have no way of figuring out until it kills you, and that you'll never die to again after the first time.

  10. If they have cross region travel why don't they just implement it?? Its so fucking annoying. People have been asking for NA-EU travel for years and they're pretending like nobody wants it so they're just holding onto it. PUT IT IN THE FUCKING GAME.
