  1. After 11 days playing on P8S p1 on pf weeks 1 and 2, failing multiple and multiple (and multiple…) times at 50% hp, I was so glad of 6.21 patch.
The dps check was just too high except for top world players…

    I cleared p8s p1 1st day of week 3, I was ultra happy.

  2. Nobody is gonna want to listen to you if you go on tangents about being smarter and better than them. Honestly, this kind of behavior is the toxic behavior 14 is banning for taking place in-game. But I guess since you can't showcase it in game, you feel the need to showcase it on youtube?

  3. On the paladin vs dark knight part.

Dark knight's difficulty comes from not overcapping on MP, while at the same time, using the exact amount on edge without using too much, to have enough to use maximum edges during burst windows, while also considering TBN. This is probably the hardest part on drk to master. The only other thing is just lots of button mashing, and knowing when to have 50 gauge for your 2 minute dot, which also happens at the window where you can potentially overcap if you don't pay attention, or drift the shadow if you mismanage. Also, how many people do you think know to save both charges of shb for the 2 minute burst? How many know when to use plunge for damage and hold the rest for 2 minute bursts? I also really fucking love when auto attacks don't break my tbn before the boss starts doing the next cast.

Paladin on the other hand all that matters is, use req on cooldown, dont override your dots and use fof when not in req. It turns into a rotation that is basically fof phase -> req phase -> fof phase etc. You can even pop req and let it sit there for 15-16 seconds without using it just so it lines up while you finish your fof attacks. That's easier to think about than thinking whether or not you're gonna drop an edge or two on drk in buff windows. Even shield rush lines up perfectly to be in each FoF window and each ogcd to be in FoF atleat once.

In addition with the 2 minute design, fights are designed to specifically mess with you in those windows, which then makes weaving mit on drk just as annoying as it is during continuation on gnb.

Now let's talk about warrior because I know this is gonna trigger you and people calling it braindead.
What does warrior have to truly worry about outside of minor management on infuriate with raid buffs?

There's about super optimal 99 parses, and casuals who just want to play well enough to clear content, which can be done by just being 'ok' at the class. And let me tell you, getting a purple on PLD is infinitely easier than on drk.

  4. Quick question. MCH is really strong in POTD (and HOH i think). The last time i checked it had significantly more solo clears than any other job. Is there any way this comes into account and possibly would explain why MCH hasnt seen a buff? JW if they buffed MCH and the necro title suddenly became twice as common if that would be seen as a mistake or something….

  5. So, I agree with what you said about the difficulty or ease of a job shouldn't impact the dmg it can deal. Playing physical ranged shouldn't mean lower dps because of that, but that's how phys ranged is balanced. You want bigger dps, play melee or blm. Job balance shouldn't be dependent on ranged or melee. Ranged shouldn't be punished with lower dps because ranged is their preferred playstyle.

  6. Yoshi P's explanation actually makes sense. Look at performance in the new EX fight. MCH is above dancer and bard. The jobs are just preforming based off the encounter. The longer the fight the more DNC and BRD shits on MCH because of the length of time they are providing buffs to the pt. The shorter the fight the more MCH shits on DNC and BRD. Buffing MCH will probably make it a must in Criterion while DNC and BRD will most likely be trash tier. Not really sure how you fix without throwing off balance in other places. I love your videos man because you say what raiders are thinking.

  7. I'm glad it is pointed out in this video several times that SE's record for week 1 tuning has for the most part excellent – which is what makes the tuning issues this tier such a big deal. Having to switch to another job in the same role (that shares the same gear) that did a little more damage in order to get a week 1/2 clear is huge drama in FF14 – for other MMOs, that's just Tuesday.

  8. There is a big tank imbalance. Self sustain on a DRK is no where near as good as a Warrior is. Your CD is way shorter than the other tanks too. DRK excels at dps by 300-500 on average. I get that hard core raiding demands the best for week 1/2 prog but it's not just about dmg.

  9. So essentially what happened was the dev team got as good as the top players during testing for this fight, so when they added the extra it pushed it just slightly too far out for most people. That's why they removed that "extra".

  10. While I applaud the the team for the decision. This does not fix the major DPS disparity in DPS. MCH still can't really join a P8S party without severly hurting the team, RDM the same boat, and RPR being a pretty hard downgrade from all the other melee options. They need to make sure they buff these jobs hurting hopefully in 6.3.

  11. What happened is the overtuned fight exposed the job balance issues currently going on right now. The nerf is a short term fix for a long term problem that probably isn't going to be addressed substantially until 7.0. And they absolutely need to fix this. Part of the whole reason I play this instead of WoW is because every job is viable, or at least they used to be. When you have groups excluding certain jobs that becomes a problem. Honestly, SE should really prevent you from excluding certain jobs in PF. You can put up roles (like caster, ranged phys, etc.) but not exclude certain jobs ie "no RDM" or "no MCH."

  12. While the players are much better at the game than the devs, it is true some issues have been caused by the devs having better (essentially zero) ping. Twintania and parts of Living Liquid spring to mind, as do some fundamental design elements of the game (cough, weaving, cough).

  13. They should give a different title to those that clear new savage content if done in the 2nd or 3rd week, but only if you're alive during the kill & without res sickness. The last part is just to stop people from being carried, paying, or just bad players.

  14. "Job's damage are adjusted with respect to the difficulty". lul. then how does SAM do more damage than DRG and NIN. How does DRK do more dmg than WAR. PLD should be #1 dps tank based on rotation difficulty.

The first part of the statement is fine. Job balancing makes me cringe.

  15. 11:45 He's right you know. Took 7 years to see WHM to finally not be a waste of space. Now if we could see Sage have a proper burst window, and the "Pure"(Shit) healers have some more shields so that they could work better with one another.

  16. Feel like that shitty sentiment of "People doing enough damage are gonna be salty if others get buffed" exists more largely in JP because i've never seen that sorta shit here. Sounds like backwards ass logic. Why wouldn't you want your potential teammates to be doing good enough damage outside of your own ego? Samurai mains freaking the fuck out about their damage in the JP community forums shows how weirdly excessive they can be about numbers even more than NA. Ended up costing them Kaiten too lol

Yoshi P also tends to respond MUCH quicker when its a matter pertaining to JP and has a better understanding when it comes to that region, obviously enough. Which is also why the thought of "but there are no interenet connection issues" is still the case.

  17. For RDM, I feel like there is a fundamental issue of the job design.
It was designed to have lots of utility (verraise, vercure), with lesser DPS.

The problem is, on a2c, RDM utility skills are pretty much useless.
It would be great if we are able to toggle between DPS mode vs Utility mode outside of battle.
So then we can be in prog mode, or a2c mode in fights.

For RPR and MCH I feel like rework is overkill, a large potency increases for both of them might solve the DPS issue.
