The Most Outdated Content in Final Fantasy XIV – Getting Every Achievement #05

Of all the achievements – from relics to ultimates to pvp, – there’s one piece of content that’s so outdated that it’s even more pointless than levequests. That’s right, it’s Guildhest time! Most people (that aren’t noobs) only use these to unlock mentor roulette. Today, we’re about to find out why.

  1. So a few reasons to do guildhests: there's the daily roulette which gives decent exp for jobs below level 50. This is especially nice since below 50 the only other roulettes you have access to are the leveling roulette and Frontlines. The guldhest roulette is also available at level 10 as opposed to 16 for the leveling roulette or 30 for Frontlines roulette

There's also the weekly challenge log, which is a lump of exp. Once again comes in handy for getting lower level jobs up faster.

On top of that, there's an exp bonus per job the first time you complete a given guildhest for all jobs released through SB. Long story short, they help speed up the process of getting to level 50 (I know more efficient options exist, but variety helps keep me somewhat sane)

  2. At level 90 I didn't even know Guildhests existed. I had never even done the first one due to DPS queue times so it wasn't until I saw someone with 'Guildhest Roulette' as an option that I relearned they existed.

  3. Guildhests can situationally be easy experience thanks to the Challenge Log. You can get a decent push of exp by doing the sieleton fight as a healer then raking in the exp on whatever you have.

That's the most justification I've got and itd probably obsolete at this point.

  4. I think im one of the only people sho actively do guilhests 😂 What I dread is the fact that you can do each guildheist on ARR job once to gain completetion reward. So pretty much you can run the 1st guildhest 10 times for "extra exp and gil".

  5. Only time I have ever used Guildhests was when I first get a new job and I want to see how the skills work from 1-50 by five level increments… cause we can't scale ourselves in the game world =/

After that, it's playing enough MSQ rou to get the hang of it, followed by a few of the older endgame instances…

But this really doesn't make much sense now because the jobs are simple enough that this is overkill.

  6. always saddens me to see that people dont know each job gets a first time xb bonus for each guild heist first time completetion thats actually worth doing when leveling from the start.
