  1. Wouldn't listening to the footage you have offer a bit of insight since I'd assume Arthars can translate at least some stuff on the go? Seems like a lot of guessing over a muted video which isn't ideal. Unless he streamed entirely in CN. Ultimately doesn't matter much I suppose…

Still, the game's looking pretty "modern" for XIV standards and spaghetti code aside I can't help but wonder if YoshiP and team can take some of these ideas to the main game.
Getting accustomed to the tomes system early, actual iLvl requirements with caps right away to prevent underleveled sprouts, more flexible queueing, etc. — it all seems easy enough to implement to make the early game experience so much smoother! Of course there's the argument of taking dev time out of new/current content to "just" improve outdated stuff for the main game, but still…

  2. tbh i feel like it is sad that the content is the same than the PC version. Looks like we just gonna get the same game but with gameplay and graphic restrictions instead of having a game that could give a new ff14 experience

  3. i wonder how they'll handle duty roulette main scenario here. praetorium seems like the duty that would tempt you to putt your phone on sleep mode for a bit lmao

  4. I kinda would've liked for them to not introduce flying until HW… I get why they did it, but I wasn't around during the ARR days, and I would've loved to experience the world where everyone has to walk. I've seen videos of ARR hunt trains and it looks quite crazy.

  5. So instead of making something a little different that explores some alternative lore they make a 1/1 copy of the main game as far as locations are concerned like sastasha could have had different routes or something i just don't get it, everyones just gonna play on a pc emulator anyway because these controls will make anything over normal content unbearable at which point just play retail…

  6. I find it funny people are excited for ARR on mobile but whenever you get ARR content in duty finder in game right now people are like "ugh why this of all things" lol

I understand if you have never played ffxiv it will be fine, but I wonder how many people that already play ffxiv will jump into it. I'm not paying a 2nd sub to play old content on my phone

  7. I think one of the bigger questions about future content is: when it comes to dungeons that haven’t gotten reworks yet bit will get reworked, is there now a chance Mobile will get those newer versions before the pc version? It would be silly if we got a revised optional dungeon second, but if they get to that dungeon’s release first, would they really have the old version, we get the revision, and then Mobile is now weirdly out of sync with dungeon mechanics tha would normalt align bc it already got its release before we got our revision?

  8. The Chinese text "讨伐 讨灭战" was directly taken from the Japanese ”討伐 討滅戦", which they can do a lot easilier due to the shared root of their writing systems. On the other hand, the English terms were localized, where a lot of creative liberty was taken, so in many cases, Google lens is not able to help you.

Most content titles do not translate and aren't even remotely similar thanks to Koji. As well as things like names for mechanic. So it's been a trip communicating with people through the language barrier.

  9. Character animations look so much better in this than in retail. They're not any different, but it looks like they're actually using the 1.0 wind-down animations for when you stop running. Also, the legs seem to animate independently of the torso, so no awkward sliding around while casting like in retail.

  10. My only (so far) but biggest disappointment with the mobile version is that they didn't take this opportunity to retell the 1.0 storyline and instead are just rebooting it from the existing reboot point.

Like, you had one job guys. You already did a fantastic job putting the game together from all appearances. But WHY wouldn't you reach for the low hanging fruit? I'm positive that if the 1.0 storyline was in the mobile version it would draw in a huge crowd of PC and console players who just want to finally get a chance to experience that. Massive missed opportunity.
