Why Has Final Fantasy XIV Blown Up In Popularity

Today wanted to talk about Final Fantasy XIV’s recent explosion of popularity. With twitch streamers like Asmongold & Cohh Carnage playing the game daily. Also with Youtubers like Mr Happy, Zepla, Larryzaur, and so many others making more content on the game than ever before. I believe I have a somewhat different take as to the game’s recent possibility.

  1. The primary cause has to be the exact same reason why WoW has stagnated. Always comes back to the devs. WoW could still be growing if it only ever got better.

  2. I think it's the combination of things that made it to be the perfect storm. From being home more often to recommendation from evangelical FFXIV community. I believe it all started back in 2013 when this game came out. Even a veterans like myself were refugees from other MMORPGs. Me being from AION. Others from LOTRO and such. I know it's weird to say this but it's like the early days of USA back in the turn of the century. When it was regarded as the land of the opportunity. And mass migration of immigrants.
