  1. I agree with most of what was said however you could argue that SE has been upfront and has been asking for years to not use any addons/mods. Each Yoshi-p speech in live letters about this subject was clear, do NOT use such things. What else can the man say that he hasn't already? Just because they have been mostly lenient/inconsistent in enforcement and people think it's ok somehow and won't get randomly (or not so randomly… screw mass reporting..) banned? You could argue that everyone that kept using and streaming with mods forced their hand as more and more people started using as they have literally been promoted.

That aside, the fact that their enforcement has issues is problematic and a whole other subject… the way they are going about it is completely messed up.

I don't think making a complete clear list of what can be used is realistically possible as well, I think it would be easier to just say something of the kind:

    – We do not allow any third party software however we have the following exceptions:
—- We allow voice communication software that does not add any other extra functionality to the game.
—- We allow visual enhancements that do not add more information than the base UI.

The above is just an example, it's easier/more realistic to deny all and create a small number of exceptions than listing every single possible software around that could possibly even exist.

I honestly hope you and many others do not get banned, the fact that they've been so inconsistent with enforcement is what caused all of this situation and they should take it into consideration.

Not only that, many of the QoL functionality should be in the game, the only reason people even use mods is due to lack of options and this is the devs fault for not being more proactive in HUD development.

It's sad to see people banned this way and how things have been dealt with, it's not really even about breaking ToS or not but accepting they created this situation and decency.

  2. There are Discord Bots which can call those Triggers for all People in the Channel, but without ACT they can't do that anymore.
I don't know anything else so far. I guess callouts alone aren't really the problem, except those Triggers which call Stuff before they appear. But i think it's more about all those Addons, which are giving PC Players an advantage over PS4/5 Players. Some are also bound on a Trigger, like the Visual Trigger in TEA last Phase, which shows you everything you need to know.
There are for sure some Tools which are taking it too far.

But i guess everyone who needs Triggers to clear a fight, should use them, because otherwise they might wipe the whole party over and over. Image how less Legends we would have, without Triggers. 😉

  3. The majority of the people talking about it don’t raid or do any content they just want to add to the fire and be annoying sacks of shit sadly

  4. Ive only been playing for a little over 2 year's but i noticed everytime raiders get alot of positive coverage non raiders lash out in some way and if raiders get bad news they revel in schadenfreude. Its pathetic. Let people play how they want

  5. On the surface, the ToS has not changed. We've always been told that mods/third party tools/plugins are bannable offenses, they have told us repeatedly that they cannot detect such programs, and will not make the game capable of scanning your computer for them, but that if you publicly show you are using them (by talking about it ingame, on social media, by displaying it in posted screenshots or on streams) then you're putting yourself at high risk of rule enforcement.

The unspoken agreement, reading between the lines has been 'we know you're using these tools, do not make it obvious, do not use tools that allow you to cheat or change the gameplay experience to give you an advantage, or to interfere with the play experience of others.'

The enforcement being so… haphazard is an issue. But when using mods or plugins, you have to accept you are doing something that can potentially get you banned.
Now hopefully this whole situation will bring some good, with changes to the UI to provide things that we shouldn't need plugins for such as chat bubbles, or customisation of timers and buff/debuff display.

But until then, you run at your own risk.

Don't run or at least display plugins on stream, if you're using ACT, don't show it, don't discuss it. It's fight club. And we know the first two rules.

  6. SE as a whole lately has been super out of touch with the NFT stuff and everything else going on with the execs. These TOS changes do not help you as a player at all, and are left intentionally vague so they can paint with broad strikes whenever they want. This does nothing for you as a paying customer, in fact it could be used against you and just because companies CAN do things like this, doesn't mean they should.

  7. "They are pissed that we are not playing the game they want us to play" Yeah, but I wouldn't even say that referring to the dev team, as even Yoshida himself had stated in the past that a blanket statement on 3rd party tools is a risky slippery slope. The totally not toxic casuals of our fantastic Great Community BTW™, however…

  8. You're bothered because you said some things and the community misinterpreted it and missed the whole point.

Welcome to the club, Xeno. It's not a fun club, but welcome nonetheless.

  9. 100% a streamer-only issue here. And I'm kind of mixed on mods anyways. I watch all these dumb content creators complain about things not in the game and things that need to be fixed. But I never here one complain about UI, but one little streamer gets banned. And all of the sudden "UI sucks, TOS is confusing."

  10. Hell you can set it up so that discord reads out text messages in any channel you want automatically and have a 9th man just copy-paste the fucking callouts into that channel as needed. By the logic SE has been demonstrating in banning streamers and youtubers these last few days, having a ninth on your raid team is a third party tool and that's fucking ridiculous.

The funniest part is you can use discord while on console if you have a smart phone and still get those callouts read because mobile discord has the same tts features. That would make smartphones third party tools too.

This crap is ridiculous and if people want to go down the rabbit hole, you can easily reach the point of arguing that hdmi cables are third party tools because they provide a higher resolution to the player than those old-school red/white/yellow cables.
