  1. Its such a travesty that the quality talent ActiBlizzard has had in the past, and still yet has is being exploited both financially and functionally (functionally referring to the conditions in the industry itself and the obvious current legal matters). I remember loving Blizz, and WoW specifically many years ago, but after having left mid-Wrath and not looking back… we now find ourselves…yet again.. reminiscing about when these companies weren't so focused on that profit margin and when the talent they cultivated was spent on things that were worth both my time and money… I cannot in good conscience support a company that puts out bad content, and treats its employees like it has cough Fran Townsend & Bobby Kotick cough

Thank you YoshiP, Square, and the whole team behind FFXIV.

  2. A few bad apples spoil the bunch, when an apple goes bad in a bag it spreads to the other apples. there are good apples but the root cause needs to be removed for it to be improved and i think thats what needs to happen at blizzard. other employees trying to help those women but couldnt cause HR would threaten and gaslight the women or even threaten the employees trying to help them, higher ups just straight ignoring the issues. its just abhorrent behavior and it was the final straw that made me leave and return to final fantasy and im glad i left.

  3. like I said on Pyromancer's video.
while I did feel pain at the loss of a game that I had grown to love over the years. I just didn't have the energy to be mad about like he was. he just went to town on all the morons that are defending what Blizzard is doing to their game. I couldn't do that, I just packed up and left somewhat quietly. my care cup was empty. If Blizzard don't care about their game, why the f**k should I huh? why should I? and so I just left. Am I still sad? of course I am, I feel like I wasted 8 years of my time on that game (after MoP) Before that it was good, Vanilla, TBC and Wrath were fantastic… then activision took over. I skipped Cataclysm and first 3 patches of MoP. I played a more fun game instead called Vanilla SWTOR.

  4. Yep, this is not a vacation! I emphatically agree with the position of this article, and Zepla.
I've taken those before. I've "vacationed" in FF14, ESO, GW2, EVE, BDO, AA, SWTOR… Lets just say I have stopped playing and always returned. For 14 Years, I have stepped away when bored; and giddily returned for the next new expansion. Before that I was an avid Star Craft and War Craft fan. I fell in love with their games in early adolescence and never looked back…

This time I am disgusted with with their leadership for the treatment of there employee's. And this comes on the heels of two disappointing expansions, back-to-back; where I have often questioned the direction and decision process of the management team. I can only question the values and decision process of their company for so long. And I'm well past that point.

This is not a vacation, this is permeant. I, like many of my fellow players speak loudest with our financial support.
I, like many of my fellow players took this as an opportunity to speak very loudly to Activision-Blizzard, and cut all financial ties.
However, I question the level of effect; given how many still choose to stay and support "the developer's", ignoring the fact their financial contribution goes to the company and it's leadership.

What's next? we'll watch Activision either implode or reach new heigts as they continue to devalue their staff.
And as this article suggests, WoW players severing ties will continue to flood other titles. You'll find me in New World during and after launch as I critically yet enthusiastically thrown my support behind their new title.

  5. You know what cynical me thinks? Blizzard will weasel out of any legal responsibility for anything and then they will sue the state of California for damages to their brand reputation and lost revenue. And then they're going to dissolve the studio.
