  1. The best part about FF14 is that even WITH strats coming out, groups often tend to vary in what strats they use or come up with their own for particular sections that work best for them. Heck, even pugs that tend to rely on sticking to 1 approved strat can even have some variation from group to group with even certain fights were one strat is often used, it can vary to another Datacenter that might elect for another strat as the main pug strat.

  2. yea i end up learning at least 2 strats minimum. and sometimes hearing of a 3rd and/or 4th along the way. Anyway e8s on bottom tier for me for how cancer the pugs were and i still never got a clear but have multiple enrage so that'll always be bitter for me 🙂

  3. I mean people still just copy strats, look at how many guides are out there. In party finder, I'm gonna ask that people watch a guide, since if I'm raiding with strangers, I want them to have the same level of knowledge that everyone else has. But assembling a static in FF14 is much easier than a WoW raid group, I'd assume, which lets your static make your own decisions, compared to having to account for all 20 people.

  4. I wonder how well can a company like Blizzard put a blanket on info for raids. Is this something that would be desired as well. Would you want Blizzard to pay the top 100 guilds to not disclose their strat to kill a boss.

  5. Been raiding FF14 since the beginning in ARR. Back when food buff disappearing after each death and skills not resetting. Although QoL stuff needed some work then, our raid group has been consistently clearing all extreme and savages without looking for guides. That goes to show you how well the raid is designed. And as far as I can remember, we haven't encountered any bugs during our progression.

  6. Actually, even if groups were to watch streams, my team, and many others, still try out different things on week 1‐2 and we then cement what we want to use going forward. My team, for instance, will take a look at what others are doing after we have cleared, to see if we can better optimize certain spots, but over all, we tend to stick mostly with what we do.
We never used "Happy Brambles" strat, for instance, as we found our own way that was far most consistent for us and had better uptime uptime, imo.
Doing a party finder is typically painful because they tend to use week 1 strat and tend to never move from that. Another example is Ilya's light rampart.
And don't forget that even the streamer that created these strats always go on to say to not take their strats as THE strat as there could be better methods found later on.
