  1. i sure hope dragonflight is a good expantion in the long run because i think the 14 devs need a bit of a fire up their asses with some of the things they have done recently like the criterion rewards where it honostly felt like they just didnt care, not to mention how many issues every patch releases with (looking at you new housing system that apparently was being tested since 5.0 and still came out broken) if dragonflight is good it forces the ff devs to do better and even reavaluate some of the things they do in the long run, basicly like how the wow team has to do now

  2. If only they had been able to borrow from FFXIV's approach to storytelling, maybe I wouldn't have left. On that regard even GW2 did a better job of making your character feel involved than WoW.

  3. I'm jumping between FF 14 and WoW Dragonflight right now. And honestly? I want 7.0 to spice FF 14 up a bit. Not only in visual department. Although I hope this upgrade will surpass our expactations, based on 1 month work they did with character models for a sneek-peek.
I want jobs to feel more distinct. Especially tanks. For me, DRK and GNB feel too similar as they both have a similar burst window and both jobs are shaped to have double or even tripple weaving in that burst window. Because of this, it feels more like you have installed a mod to your TANK job, than play a different class.

  4. Good timing. XIV should also do something WoW did a long time ago – Visual Effects for Procs. Seeing WotLK Classic has reminded me how extremely convenient it is to have some effect light up when you get a Proc (I am mostly remembering Paladins here, having golden Symbols light up next to your Character) instead of some small text and an Icon in your possibly crowded Buff Bar

  5. Listen guys, FF14 is a WoW clone. Everything about that game is copied and modified from WoW. About 85% of all MMOs have taken from WoW. Even Yoshi admitted this, and his devs even openly talked about playing WoW and being "inspired" by Blizzard.

  6. The UI customization in WoW is hardly a big deal to anyone who has been using customized UIs since TBC. Hell I'd say a lot used in games today can be attributed to the very open modding community in WoW. You know, back when people weren't acting holier than thou about third party support. Why it took Blizzard so long to implement something even Ion knew about and likely used way back in the day is beyond me.

  7. Still no proper controller support though. no amount of hotbar customization for KB will make it easier for me to use the KB unless they implement a system incredibly similar to what FFXIV has. Yoshi even stated before that he didn't want to trade mark that system as he wants other games use utilize it. Not saying WoW has to come to console, but unless they keep the overall total abilities you need extremely short while still allowing you to be quite effective in a group then they have way too many abilities for me to comfortably play. Outside of that, I'm tempted I admit, but reluctant not because of past choices in game design but past issues with the company itself that I haven't seen get rectified properly. It's a great game and I've been a fan of for years but they keep making controversial mistakes which make me reluctant to throw my money at. Sure one person refusing to subscribe isn't going to make a difference so really it's more about how I feel towards what I want to give money to.

  8. To be fair, Blizzard made their buisness on stealing and innovating on ideas. One of the reasons Wow started sucking was because they stopped doing that while games like Guild Wars 2 and FFXIV innovated new ideas, or copied what worked from Wow’s golden years.

  9. Something I noticed in these kind of videos.Everytime there is a WoW vs FFXIV talk, there are way more WoW fans in the comment section than XIV, then you got the side liners the ones who play games like Gw2 saying "my game is better" and so on.
