Dawntrail Extreme 1 Guide

This is a guide to the trial ‘Worqor Lar Dor Extreme’ (Valigarmanda Extreme) in Final Fantasy XIV.

I know Valigarmanda was revealed in the media tour, but for anyone who hasn’t been keeping up with that, I don’t want to spoil anything.

  1. This fight will seem like it hits very hard, but once people get better gear mitigations will be more manageable. I've made it to enrage in PF twice now, hope in a couple weeks I can still get clear parties otherwise I'm SOL haha.

  2. A little note about killing the first feather, by the time the final feather drops, everyone will be in that back corner, killing the second feather gives more uptime for melee, where the first feather will kill the melee or tanks who try to attack it when the final one lands.

  3. I managed to clear from fresh in one sitting with a pf group because everyone was communicating well and checking reference videos, so thanks for putting good stuff out there

  4. The placement of these graphics in the tower mechanic doesn't match what i have seen with the marker placement in the game. In particular, the A and B markers ingame are in the respective safe zones when the attack comes from the sides, which makes the correct position to stand in very easy.

  5. Maybe a stupid question, but for lightning phase with the feathers, why are we having to kill a feather at all? Their explosions seem small, so can't we just stay on the furthest floating tile and just keep hitting the boss? Or is it because melee can't reach the boss unless we kill a feather to get closer? What am I missing?

  6. Here's a tip if you have a good headset: For the volcanoes, you can actually hear which direction is going to erupt based off the direction the sound is coming from in your headset. Obviously, this might also be based off of my sound settings in game. But this works for me.
