  1. here's my question to you guys, how do you think that SE is gonna keep track with plugins and mods, those that are just graphical and ascetical to the ones that are cheating and game info altering. I don't think they can as effectively as they could keep track of each add-on and with every patch, those same add-ons would change in every patch and the devs would be forced to change the code to accommodate the new change for the add-on to cherry-pick each one, what it's gonna happen is that they're gonna blanket ban these add-ons no matter what they're gonna be, and slowly add those same add-ons (except the DPS meter) over time, so that's my take that I think is gonna happen. or they could just remove ranking then no one would actually care

  2. I think part of the reason could be that they want the official graphics revamp to have more punch for example. Anyway rip Eorzea's collection my love for now

  3. I doubt he'll do anything drastic like restricting our use of mods and QoL plugins; however, I would not be surprised if he finally pulls the plug and just forces an invasive anti-cheat program on us. As a mod author, user, and plugin user, most, if not all, fanmade content I've installed has increased my enjoyment of this game tenfold. When your game has a large modding community; that's when you really know you have dedicated fanbase. He'd likely alienate, what is probably a large portion of PC players, from wanting to continue to play the game.

  4. feast top 100 already had cheaters and apparently the same people have been doing it since stormblood and square has done nothing about them so I would not expect any changes.

  5. We just gotta crack down on the PVP plugin abusers, and not tarnish the glamour mods, animation mods, etc etc. Because those are where beautiful screenshots and such come into play, and cause no harm =/ It'd be a huge shame if they got rid of everything just due to PVP issues :c

  6. It's almost like people forget, using third party tools of ANY kind is against the ToS. For a while now they have looked the other way outside of big violations. That doesn't mean their stance was ambiguous, they were being tolerant. Now they might be enforcing the ToS, the thing that everyone agreed to (and no one read). I hope the modding community is able to continue and the cheating is abated, but let's not pretend the rules were ambiguous.

Mods of all kind are against the ToS. Mods of all kinds are bannable. Use them at your own risk.

  7. I feel like if the community that uses plugins for fun things that the game could use for quality of life were banned/and or unable to continue that there would be a larger player shift during downtime between patches. What they should do is actually take a look at the mods out there and see which ones could be good quality of life improvements instead of burying their head in the sand about it. I'm not gonna lie I do mod myself, my favourite plugin is one that lets me make a selection wheel of different buttons and I use to change jobs. I don't need it but it's super fun to be able to do.

Again I if Yoshi P looked into the mods created I think he could understand that community better and implement things people enjoy.

  8. I am really bad at PvP. I am slow, clumsy, by the time I react I am already dead. BUT I'd never use the bloody cheats just to pretend I'm better than I really am. Who would I be kidding? Myself? Other people?

I do hope they will find a way to detect these cheaters and issue permanent bans. This is truly anti game behaviour.

  9. The new people coming in are the cheaters. They got bored or whatever, but they go from game to game cheating because they suck. Anyone caught cheating should get a lifetime ban in my opinion.

  10. so is it saying that mods are ok, ones for glamour and all that? lewd ones i can understand, at least in the sense of posting them online, giving non-players the wrong idea. i love using glamor mods to give my characters cute outfits that arent in the game, or new hairstyles and mounts

  11. The big problem I see here is that a hacker will be able to go around the problem one way or another but mods and helpful plugins will suffer and be gone. If they implement a ban on mods what then, act ban? Raid plugin ban?

  12. My only mods are HD textures for skin and hair. And shaders if that counts. Other than that I wouldn't really call that devious and obviously what Yoshi and the crew aren't really concerned about. However, I believe in order to combat the devious side of modding/addons, people like me are probably going to get taken down along with the degenerates and I can understand but still am bummed about it…

  13. Yet again PVP will kill off an mmo and make the PVE community suffer because people can't measure their dick against each other without someone trying to shove a banana into a sock.

  14. This is a little scary for me at least. I use gshade (and only gshade) because I think the game looks a lot better if it was a little more saturated, and I have been learning how to use Gpose and gshade gives me a lot more flexability and freedom in my shots than what is avaliable in game normally.

Granted, I know Gshade doesn’t actually affect the game’s files at all, its just an overlay, so I don’t think it would get cracked down on maybe? But I hope people like me don’t get cracked down on because we want a little more color in the game.

  15. The lists of hacks is ENDLESS from what shit people have brought to light. From things simple as triggering certain abilities at ranges or HP value to auto heal yourself, immunities to status effects like slow and bind, to completely unfair things like instantly charged LB.

  16. I mean I kind of get both sides, but when you're talking about optimizing a strategy or tactic, you need to see the overall impact of your actions. I would have no quarrel if the damage was added to all solo dungeon runs or private party runs. I can understand the concern for rando parties, but I don't see why they can't be added for playing solo or in a private party. You can say, "You know when you're doing well from your rotations or how fast things die," but it's not that simple when trying to change around ability rotations. Aside from base number crunching, which are theoretics, there's also the actual implementation of your pre-determined strategies. Every dungeon is a little bit different which means every tactic will be a little different and while the bar is low enough in a majority of dungeons to where you can do things randomly and still come out okay, most of the time, some people value their time and want to do them faster or some of the dungeons need you to bring your best.

  17. I just use one mod and it’s the damage meter. I only run it to make sure I am keeping up DPS wise. I only use it while running savage in our static. I think certain mods that doesn’t affect gameplay should be allowed, but like it was said, you can’t blast someone for not doing enough DPS. It should be personal use for your own knowledge.
Freaking cheaters are gonna ruin it for everyone. What kind of accomplishment can they feel if they cheat their way to wins?

  18. The annoying thing is that the new PvP mode is something that works best when not taken seriously. Just casually run in there and have a blast for a few minutes. People trying to hack a win not only ruin competitive play – they spoil the fun for the 'play for the lols' crowd that fill up the casual game queue. And if those jerks cost us our G-pose reshader mods, that will be a sad day for the game.

  19. Simple Tweaks adds an option to fix the legacy camera control mode so that you can run backwards at full speed (as legacy mode already lets you do) but with Simple Tweaks you no longer have to fight the camera to run in one direction and look in another direction.

  20. I'm glad that Yoshi-P will never add a DPS meter to the game. Using that in WoW used to give me so much anxiety when I wasn't THE BEST, or close to it. It made me feel absolutely bad about myself – when it turns out it was something in WoW borrowed power of the week that was causing the issue. This game is so much more relaxing simply because no one can throw a fucking parse in my face.
