part of why some people are saying the game is dying is more the change in how the developers are engaging with criticisms than just the missteps in execution.
the answer is no
there, saved you 7 minutes
Not really, but its not doing that great thanks to Squeenix either.
Yeah, slowly
This is a really funny title as I'm easily finding pugs for ultimates every day
Random youtube recomendation at night.
DT is worse than previous expansions. That's just it. The story fell down to a disney princess level of plot, with the difference that princess is also a furry and voiced by a trans. The plot is just comicly bad. It almost as if they fired all their writers and hired some DEI bs instead.
Yes its joeover. We need to all invest $400 dollars in AoC I hear in 2050 it will save mmos.
Ofc it isn't dying, but i do hope they see the complaints. They have had the same patch cycle since ARR, the only thing that has changed is a more staggered release. it has grown very stale.
The story, while i didn't hate it, was not the best. it was basically our characters story (which was 5 parts btw), into 1 story. It was to full, it was not developed enough, so much dialogue felt half assed. And your mostly just went from point a to point b. Almost no interacting with the new maps they created.
i will say, i was able to look past the flaws and like the story. as it truly was a new beginnings story, like ARR was. But yeah, i want it to bring back the highs of the endgame content from stormblood. Yes it had a mixed story, but man the jobs were great. the endgame was great. Man i hope they learn something.
FF14 survived the Gordias hellhole back in the day. FF14 survived the ~bad~ Story of Stormblood. I'm tired of the doomposting farmers.
Now if ff14 lost close to half it's player pop, then it might really die, but depending on world, you still face first in to a que.
The game is not dying but I think its important to not undersell whats happening as well. Yes, its not a majority of people that didn't return to ff for the patch but turning growth into decline is a big deal, especially for an MMO since it needs to make numbers.
I still think the game needs to break its own pattern and schedule to get more attention again. And well, all the obvious things like content, balancing, you name it.
It'll be fine because not enough players know how to vote with their wallet, instead they settle for mediocre.
Endwalker is FFXIV’s WOTLK expansion.
The wrapping up of a decade long story.
What we are currently seeing is the growing pains of a new arc getting started.
A lot of people set their sights too high to begin with, and it shows.
This is not a Shadowlands. It’s not even a Warlords of Draenor.
It’s a Cataclysm. And that includes the growing pains that come with that.
I’m trusting the devs to take the feedback we give them and avoid a WoF or SL before it ever becomes a threat
Of course the start of a new arc is going to be a step down from the climax of the previous one that had been cooking for 10 years.
You can’t honestly expect it to continue to escalate it it when the arc JUST started!
The game is dying in the same way that the game has died one year into each expansion since HW. 🥴
