Part 5
In This series we have looked at all sorts of things from both GW2 and FFXIV but in this final part we look at the Endgame. Arguably the best part of any MMO it can both be the most arduous or exciting parts of the mmo playthrough.

static´s in ff14 are really luck dependend, i play the game since the first expansion HW, and i had a lot diffrent statics since then. its incredible hard for me and someone else to find a group that match our times and keep playing. i have alot statics with drama here and there and they split up every time, i was never able to tacke ultimate fights because of that, we were training them making progress and then something always happen, new ppl join or the party keep failing at the same mechanic over and over.
to make it short for me and 2-3 others it is unfortunately damn hard to find a good static and to approach it in this content
I'm honestly not sure if looking at XIV's endgame at the point of Heavensward is necessarily the most accurate when a fair amount of the endgame systems have been polished up and added to in the 7-8 years since it was current.
There are a few instanced end-game content that are fun but gets over-looked because they aren't categorized the same as Convergences, Strikes, Fractals, or Raids. These are (from most popular to least popular imo) Dragonstorm, Twisted Marionette, Battle for Lion's Arch, and Tower of Nightmares. From what I've seen in end-game contents between FFXIV's Dungeon/Trials/Raids, and GW2 Fractals/Strikes/Raids is that FFXIV's is very choreographed like a dance, which is pretty fun and easy to learn, while GW2's can be pretty fast paced and flexible in different strategies for beating the fights.
Your MSQrator didn't mention A class hunt trains or S class hunt spawning parties. They're a major part of FFXIV's end game, a proper MMO experience, and great for racking up tomestones.
He also glossed over treasure maps. They are really good fun group content with random bosses, bonus rare spawns, unique/rare mats, and constant gambling!
Savage raids and ultimates get cleared by PUGs on a fair few servers once the guides come out, so finding a static isn't the only option.
I'd probably say it's a tie. Each of their strengths cater to different people. Endgame instanced PvE is XIV hands down. Open world in GW2 is second to none. A lot of it comes down to what you want your max level experience to be. And each game doesn't quite have what the other is strong at. GW2 and FFXIV are 2 games you can definitely play side by side, alternating during down times. Especially since a lot of GW2 is evergreen. You can always just pick it right back up again where you left off and you're not a day behind.
I'm actually glad you're doing these when you're around Heavensward. There's nothing wrong with sharing opinions, and I wonder how much your opinion may change as you progress through FFXIV.
I've been playing FFXIV since the end of ARR, and I have to say, the sheer amount of end game content in this game is kinda overwhelming. You can spend whole days just decorating a house. Today, all I did was farm gemstones for vouchers to sell on the market board (I made millions doing that), and all the while my Discord was constantly going off with notices about Hunt Trains forming, rare S-rank bosses that just popped up, or rare fates popping.
If you go into the cities, you'll eventually see an advertisement for someone's club, or some event inviting players to come by–parties that have real world DJs, and Twitch streams going on. Preach's guild, The Crawlers, are known for their crazy parties.
FFXIV does social content like no other game I've ever seen. No hyperbole.
I hope you’ll make another video about the leveling experience and endgame when you’re already there. It felt like these videos were rushed after finishing HW.
You know if you think about it, FF14 has zero endgame content because the level cap will increase in a future expansion.
Also “which one is better, it depends on the player” is such a cop out. It’s a matter of taste, sure. But this is a video about your taste.
Do you really have a reason to be talking about FFs half? You haven't even gotten close to that point and it feels like this is kinda just engagement bait. (That I know I'm falling for right now by replying to this.)
With all due respect:
you're still in heavensward. bit early to talk about endgame, innit?
savages and ultimates are just the one thing for the players hooked on the combat. The game has plenty of activities of many flavours for "caught up" players to delve into. Some might enjoy playing Marketboard(Extreme) and see their gil numbers go up from playing stonks. Some may find their passion in the craft of perfect glams with the dozens of thousands of available gear pieces. Some will enjoy deep dungeon delvings, maybe as a group activity with friends, but maybe they'll be autistic enough to do solo runs in them. some will sell their soul to yoshi-P for a nice house and spend a lifetime decorating it to perfection. Some will embark on the sisyphean task of achievement hunting. Some will just have the time of their lives hanging out in limsa and RPing.
The "lack of content" just means that you get to pick and choose which of the available content you want to sink your time into, and whatever you choose, there'll be plenty of depth in it to enjoy.
XIV endgame is doing whatever you personally enjoy in it.
All these videos have done is make me not want to invest my time into you playing FF14. You fence sit your conclusion on each of the three videos. Complete copout
It's crazy the amount of comments bashing you about how you aren't able to comment about endgame when you ONLY have 200 hours into it. Did they even watch the video?
really interested into seeing u redo this series after u've caught up on MSQ and have dabbled in savages. I was little concerned when i saw u had an endgame section for this series, but i'm glad u brought Galactic to give his input.
Awesome job with these videos. I’d love to see more comparing more mmos!
