Looking forward to this. found Genji early in his ffxiv journey and while I may not agree with him entirely when it comes to this game specifically I do see his criticisms and they are valid it's just I personally can see through those flaws to the excellent writing and phenomenal and meaningful story behind those flaws , but his vibe is great and his taste in games generally is really good. this should be a fun discussion!

I honestly cannot agree nor really understand Genji's issues with XIV, a lot of his criticism I can lay at the games he played. If he was already at a point he disliked the game at the 200 hour mark why continue going unless he knew there was no way to gain more viewers by maintaining the XIV progression. The Difficulty issues are not a real issue, nor is the story. In comparison to other MMO's its leagues better to the point that Chris Metzen of WoW is now adopting the same episodic view for the new WoW Expansion, (I mean the WoW PC is a nameless hero, at least the WoL is recognized in the setting as an important person). So yea, to me….I just dont get exactly what he wanted out of the game, combat is easy to pick up and put down on a small scale (easy to pick up, hard to master).
I often think he forgets that not everyone has streamer privilege where people will jump to run content with him. That on average the dungeons being easy is more for the veterans to not rage over a rookie DPS/Tank/Healer wiping the whole party for doing something they are not supposed to do. In ARR and HW it wasnt unheard of people just running dungeons and expert within their FC only or close circle of friends, just to avoid the 'bads' in duty finder.
