  1. The only Jobs that are story locked are Dark Knight, Astrologin, and Machinist. As they are locked behind an area that you can only get to with the Heavensward xpac. SE later made all the newer jobs going forward just having the xpac and the appropriate level to unlock them after that having them in the main city's to grab.

    Heirsbane

    But yeah kinda Darth Vader…sorta…

Gauis is basically yo I know I'm an imperial and what not and super harsh but you do good and work hard and I'll support you.

  3. Also, this doesn’t make it worth it, but there is a story reason for the lul before Titan: the NPCs don’t want you to fight him because they think you will die. So they give you the worst quests to try to make you give up lol

  4. The butt was always supposed to be shapely with the 2B pants. The bug Kyle is recalling is that those pants glitched out for a while and DID NOT enhance the butt, which led to widespread community outrage, cries of "censorship," and then a promise from the devs to fix the butt so we can all have nice booties once more. It's a happy story for butt-lovers the world round!

  7. I've been playing FFXIV for years. I'm definitely one of those people who will say that going through the ARR slog is important, even if it can be a little rough. That said, I think most veteran gamers will have a good idea of when they can just breeze through the quest text and when they should slow down and pay a little more attention. I definitely did that earlier on during ARR. I don't feel like I do it nearly as much with current content, whether it be because it's more "bite sized" since I'm doing it as it comes out, or if it's because it's just either better or more relevant.

tl;dr don't worry too much about reading all the quest text if you don't want to 🙂

  8. If you plan on getting to the latest expansion then you'll have to go through 20-30 game time days of story. Take our advice and pay attention to it and you'll be rewarded with the best story you've ever seen in a video game. Skip it and you'll never understand why so many people switched to ffxiv xD. This is different from all the mmos you've played so far. The game doesn't start in the end game, it starts in the moment you create your character. Don't rush to end game, your level isn't important, just slow down and enjoy what the game has to offer. You'll probably understand all this when you reach Heavensward.

  9. Red Mage and Samurai only need to you have finished Praetorium, aka 2.0 base game. Then you can just snag em both in Ul'dah. Happy Ver-holying!

As for resources, depends on what you're looking at. MArket boards, housing, glamour? Most of the time we just use the Lodestone, which is SE's official site. We don't really use things like WoW Head. Datamining is a big NO-NO here.

Also a funny thing about the titan-Pre quests, is when you go back and do them on new game+ or just take the time to read it, the whole thing is actually poking FUN at the stereotypical mmo fetch quests. Sadly it's lost since you're caught in a lull in the story. If it had come after, or was put somewhere else, I have a feeling it would have been more well received. (As for the attack on the Waking Sands.. oh boy, you got a storm coming. The story starts getting dark. It IS the journey of a Hero, your journey. With all the heights AND pitfalls that come with it. 10. Red Mage is great! Saw the description of it and wasn’t impressed, but once I figured out the gameplay, so much fun. It “feels” good. I like proc gameplay and the charge in, do big melee damage, then flip out is awesome.

  11. I feel like a lot of information is passed around via word of mouth, but the reddit for questions; consolegamewiki, the gamerscape wiki, and the lodestone's playguide for general info on quests, items, and guides; ffxivcollect for list keeping on collectables…. we're a hodgepodge with no central place for every bit of relevant info

oh, and the wikia for characters.
