  1. As someone who loves final fantasy. While I will never go back to wow. I will still admit that ffxiv has problems. The early game is a nightmare. I quit the game over 12 times trying to get into it before actually staying. I don't blame people for not wanting to keep up with it, and I don't agree with people telling them to deal with it either. There is alot to be desired with early content. From the rotations being painful to play up until level 70 to the extremely slow journey through ARR. I've since tried to bring several friends into the game. Only one remains to raid with me in my static for P12s.

In all honesty. I don't really think wow or ffxiv can even be compared. They're too different. Wow focuses more on mythic content and PvP. With fast paced combat and a full fledged talent system. Whereas ffxiv prizes itself on raid content, dungeons and story, with a combat system that's slower and more based on weaving cooldowns.

Both games have their problems and benefits and both are successful. Just play what you enjoy.

  2. I’m pretty sure invincible and wolf at the gates will blow any FFXIV music out of the water. I tried playing it multiple times and it just kinda felt boring, and the waifus are inferior to draenei or night elves.

  3. MMOs suck in general the combat is the same boring shit across the board and it’s always way too much money in the long run just to spend all of it grinding, RuneScape ESO ff14 wow it’s all the same shit it’s all just boring combat and grinding while trying to squeeze money out of you and for some godforsaken reason people buy all the expansions and shit so they can go do boring combat and grind but in a new location now

  4. Tried it for 100 hours, not even close to the OG imo. Wow had its flaws over the years but I prefer the type of D&D fantasy to Japanese fantasy, besides, I wasn’t sucked into the story once. Incredibly dull with races and characters I didn’t care for. Liked the player housing idea, the new player stuff, and it’s different take on transmog (ahem, heels) but nothing can replace WoW for me.

  5. I've never played wow but I've played ff and it's ok but paying for a game then having to pay a subscription to play the game you paid for on top of having to pay for ps plus, just not happening.

  6. ARR (The beginning arc, which is unfortunate because it's a big ask time wise to "waste" getting through) sucked but it's pretty much all WAY uphill from there.

I've played a ton of MMOs and many have their own pros and cons, but for xiv, it's weird, because for me, the major con is that the game, both mechanically AND story wise, is a massive snooze fest to start. Particularly if you decide to start as a support like aiming for White Mage.
