  1. I enjoyed the changes to the benchmark this time around. My thighlander looks prettier in the new lighting than her 6.58 counterpart. I did compare my screenshots from the older benchmark though and it seems she looks more natural there (with some freckles introduced by the "incorrect" lighting). Im not complaining now as she looks more accurate and not goofy like the previous version.

  2. I’ve yet to see any pictures of videos of Dunesfolk Lalafell cuz their eyes are so majestic and I wana see what they look like in this new engine but we only ever see the Plainsfolk 😒

  3. the glowing ear on the elezen is a result of poor lighting mixed with an updated sss shader(subsurface scattering) where the light can be seen beneath the "flesh" but it was really bad and just makes it look glowy/translucent, it was bothering me so much

  4. I've thought that possibility of giving false benchmark score would be a bigger concern. That goes to show you how different is FF14 community are compared to other MMORPG.

  5. WHAT?!?! They got rid of the glow on the ears!? Thats how ears work though!! You guys complain too much about this, yeah shadows needed to be changed and some of the models needed to be fixed, but cmon the ears were fine! I liked it like that. It was already annoying to hear one of my FC mates constantly yapping and complaining about it "omg my aura looks so uncanny" blah blah blah, you people are ungrateful and it's starting to show more and more in the community to the point that I can't stand all of you. About to unsubscribe from my service because of the community becoming unbearable and gatekeepy.

  6. The "glow" of the ears is because the subsurface scattering was probably too high. That is a normal thing and it's awesome to see it added/enhanced and they seemed to have fine tweaked it in the bm1.1. Basically it's replicating real life and how light shines through certain parts of the body, ears, nose, fingers etc πŸ˜€

  7. I just hope these benchmark changes carry over to the live game. It's great that the changes were implemented and the characters look amazing in the benchmark. My main concern is that we now will have the opposite problem with characters looking great in the character creator and crap in the open world lol who cares what the benchmark 1.1 looks like if the rest of the game looks like 1.0 did?

  8. This game is so dated, I tri d to play 2024 but I can’t. Characters are good but the pixels shift while moving and the open world literally looks like they took about 5 plants and scattered them.

  9. That first comparison with the slider isn't comparing the benchmarks. It's comparing the current graphics to the graphics update. You can tell because the old model has low res textures, is lower poly, and the limbal ring is harsh instead of diffused.

  10. Thank you for compiling these for us! I'm pretty oblivious to the changes when I look at it myself so having someone point them out to me was really cool to see.
