  1. All of JoCat's Crap Guides are incredible (if, at points, a bit spoilery so tread at your own risk!) and even if you don't plan on ever trying a healer or a DPS you gain a lot from just understanding how the different roles operate. After all, a Tank dictates the pace of the dungeon, it pays off to know how everyone else paces themselves in turn. 😀

  2. A little info to answer your questions on some of it:

    – if you watch the DPS guide, JoCat talks a little more about that half eaten donut, there’s actually a lot of info you can learn just by looking at it.
    – you’ll get Hallowed Ground at lv 50 for PLD. It makes you completely immune from damage for a period of time, but it’s a near once or twice per fight button you get to use.
    – for DRK, the invuln button got a rework since this video came out. When the DRK uses it, they have to actually get their health to 0, but the button keeps them at 1HP. Once that happens, they trigger a period where they are invulnerable, but they MUST fully heal by the end of that period, or they will ACTUALLY die. Fortunately, their basic combo gives them enough health to get past that, and most healers will also be able to get them back to full.

  3. Jocat may call them "crap guides" but they actually teach the most important basics 🙂 If you learn those, you're set for the remainder of your journey 😀 Everything else if flourish.

  4. "Dark Knight is for when you want to do your best Gutz impression"..

That brought back memories to the day the Writer/Artist for the Gutz Series passed away…. for 3-5 days, in Ul'dah on all of the servers, we (as players) Lined up along the road in the city as Dark Knights with campfire minions infront of us, all with the "alt-pose" going with the weapons drawn, and just left our characters there AFK (or sat there talking with others in chat).

Same thing happened with a well-loved VA in FFXIV passed away, everyone lined up as Paladin's outside of a house in-game with the campfire minions out and did the same thing (afk'd or talked).

  5. AFAIK the real reason they are called "crap" guides is because Jocat has two characters in games he creates content for, his main ones called Jocat and the character he uses in these videos, called Jocrap (not just in FFXIV either, I believe the animated wiggler head in his intro guy is Jocrap as well but in Monster Hunter).
