So does that mean when playing Dragoon for long enough, using Dragon Sight eventually no longer feels like a massive hassle? That gives hope^^
I've been maining sage (6.0), war (6.2) and now I'll go into the new tier as a whm, but I can never decide which job to dedicate my online life to. My personal list for new savage raiders would be : tank – war, healer – whm, melee – reaper and sam, physical range – dancer, caster – summoner or redmage ^^
i would say WAR>PLD just as surv just as tanky and simpler rotation and between thrill of battle and uhh crap i cant think of it the "i hit you it heals me" buff i just smile at the sweetness of your blood while laughing maniacally as the corpses pile at my feet
Raw Intuition>Bloodwhetting
I started playing as a paladin and stuck with it so far. It's fun and tanking is not that hard. I didn't even want to start in Ul'dah, that was an error on my part, but it turned out alright. Warrior is apparently easier for starters than paladin thanks to its passive healing.
What made it harder for me to learn my second job was the missing learning curve. I chose reaper as my second job and started at level 70. Then I stared at my hot bar and had no idea what to do. Sure, my 1-2-3 combo or my 1-2 AoE combo was easy enough to understand, but I had no idea about anything else. It took quite a while to get used to after playing through the entire MSQ as tank. What worked for me was to start with some level 50/60 fights. The rotation at that point is just barely more than the 1-2-3 combo or the 1-2 AoE, so enough time to get used to the rest of my kit.
Being a healer is… Yeah, I didn't dare venture into healing yet. I'm a console player and targeting the party members isn't as easy as it should be. I think. Maybe. Could be wrong, though. I should probably just give it a go in a low level dungeon and see how it goes. I feel bad for some players that I found dead in the wild. They saw me and probably hoped I'd switch to healer to raise them. Problem: I didn't have any healer gear with me and couldn't and all my healers were/are still at level 1.
While I'm a Gunbreaker main, for some one new to tanking, Warrior is what I would recommend.
Dancer for ranged phys, as having three on demand gap closer/dodge is just chefskiss.jpg
Sage is very casual. Breezy and effortless.
Just kidding of course 😅 I mean all jobs have their moments of difficulty, but when I have to go into uber healer mode when everybody is getting injured or knocked out? It's chaos.
I don't know if I would play half as good on a keyboard as I do on a controller, because of how fast I have to move between abilities and hotkey slots.
