A few weeks away means this may be the latest Final Fantasy 14 Endwalkers trailer reaction in all reaction land. But it pretty damn tasty! Ambiguous at first but the strong vibe of Final Fantasy 4, bits of 10, aliens and THE MOOON! Has left me with a happy irish jig for this expansion. The Final Fantasy 14 logo design logic blew my mind and Im in awe at Yoshi-P’s 5D chess skills. We chat Sage and maybe Reaper being the next classes coming in FF14 Endwalkers and where the Hydaelyn / Zodiark story may end in this final arch conclusion. I also punked myself out with a Final Fantasy anime trailer reaction… lol.

  18. Is that it, what happened?
    Well…
    – we see WoL hinted at as an Ascian on the moon in front of the sun (our Ascian symbol)
    – we are Alisae in new gear
    – we see Alphi as a new job
    – we see Eorzea burning and Terminous monsters from the Final Days running wild on Limsa
    – we see Fandaniel in a tower or Void Ark
    – We see Zenos in new gear with new weapon over a destroyed Garlemald
    – We see WoL in Paladin gear doing Hero pose on the moon again.

    So not a lot happened I agree. Lol I guess you just missed it all xD

  19. one thing to note: the creatures we see Alisae fighting in the beginning is the same one we see in Emet's recreation of the Final days in the Amaurot dungeon, the Terminus Lacerator. While we see variations of the Dahaka model in many places throughout XIV, This specific coloring and pattern is first seen there.

  20. 8:20 @FinalFantasyPeasant Actually the prevailing theory is that this is an Alagan Ragnarok-class ship. It's not a wedge shaped Imperial Star Destroyer looking ship, but a long almost sword like ship. If you've done the Coil Raid from 2.0, it's actually one of the Coils used to contain Bahamut. The lore states that Dalamud was made up of various Ragnarok-class ships to contain the Elder Primal. So the prevailing theory is that Cid and Nero will help us restore one that managed to survive mostly intact from Dalamud's decent, to get us to the moon.

  30. I’ve seen people compare Zenos to both Sephiroth and Kefka, but I don’t think either of those comparisons are really fair. I think people who say that really don’t know anything at all about those three characters. (Though there are admittedly some parallels between Zenos and Kefka, that’s more a small moment their pasts than anything in their presents.)

  31. Another cool thing to note with Pandaemonium is that Lahabrea's glyph mask like every other Ascian is the esper glyph of an esper from 12. The esper for ol' breaddy boi is mateus who in esper lore of 12 is the counterpart to a scion called Lahabrea.
    As a fellow FF nerd you know who the name of the Emperor from 2 is right? yup, Mateus, and his castle in hell after we murder him is called…. Pandaemonium, and we killed Laha and now we are fighting him again….. gonna be some FF 2 love i'm calling it.

    Also the M in the logo for the raids is the fish Zodiark from FF12/Tactics

  37. So to nip the "Hydaleyn tempering Heroes" theory in the bud. It's a very strong no. The reason for this is that when you meet Minfilia as the "Voice of Hydaelyn" for the first time in Heavensward she specifically tells you to go out and learn the truth of the world for yourself. Doesn't tell you to doubt anything anyone tells you other than the "VoH" tells the WoL but for the WoL to learn for themselves about the World/Star. A lot of people missed this small detail and so did I until I did a New Game+ run from the beginning of ARR about a month ago.

All I can think of with the moon visit (especially based on the logo for Endwalker) is Lunatic Pandora and the Lunar Cry of FF8 (Eden raids was not enough ff8 references in my mind) but with Lunar Bahamut as Fandaniel called it also brings to mind the alternate versions of ff4 with the lunar face trials and the lunar summons you faced
