This is an acapella cover of ‘Thunder Rolls’ (Ramuh Theme) from Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
It is originally composed by Masayoshi Soken with lyrics by Michael-Christopher Koji Fox and vocals by Akane Ikeya.

« Enva, Ariah and myself have been working on this collaboration since last year.
That was when I started thinking about releasing acapella arrangements on my channel. I remember playing Final Fantasy XIV and exploring maps with the Ramuh horse mount and I had its theme playing. It’s a song I really love which is not that famous in the community. This theme brings enka-esque vocals, which is a technique I wanted to experiment here.

That’s how one night, I was inspired enough to start an acapella draft recording of it. I barely created the first 50 seconds of it. Then, I decided to send it to my friends Envatilea and Ariah. I knew it would turn incredible if we managed to work together on the song. Because I’m not very experienced (I’m bad) with acapella arrangements in general, I asked Enva if she’d be interested in it since she is a GENIUS. The result was directly insane. Adding Ariah’s incredibly powerful voice to it was a wonder as well. We took some time to record everything but all went very well!

I’m extremely thankful to both these ladies for working on this cover with me. Envatilea did a great arrangement, Ariah saved the mix/master and I was challenged by the video editing (shout out to Enva again for the purple assets)! The experience is very fun and I’m looking forwards to doing more. »
