It's refreshing to hear someone as frank about the business as Yoshida-san.
I still want pre-class to become the leveling jobs for new players. It would be nice leveling woth a proper early game skill kit before transitioning over to classes at 50.
If a dev seems uninterested in XIV, they have the option of transfering to janitorial services.
Please YoshiP never get rid of the class system cuz I use class hotbars for macros
it is nice to see yoshi p thinking on work, he ofcourse cant be 100% no sugar coating
Sadly in many places corruption is insane, and work hard wont pay off ever
working smart is the way, for many is not a mertocracy , is a strategy game
like in the west jumping jobs to get a raise is a coomon strategy
again sadly 😓
A lot of what Yoshi-P is saying is managerial no-brainers, but not every manager has his God-like ability to execute and delegate while still keeping everyone 100% motivated. That's a real skill, and not every manager has it.
It's Japan so you have to go drinking with your boss after work.
Job stone fix. You can't advance an MSQ equal to level 30 or more if you dont have a Job Stone equipped. You can only queue for leveling dungeon and Guild Hest without a job stone equipped. Or maybee since they have a way to check item level, you can't queue for roulettes if you are over 30 but dont have a job stone.
I cant believe that there are people who think if i dont equip my job stone i will get away with playing a super easy and boring rotation till lvl 90 😂
The game gates you at level 30ish to do the MSQ and won't let you get the job stone right away
I love these answers until the class system lol…
ah.. I really hate every single way they reduced it. logging into to the content you've been waiting for to find something you spent hours upon hours on nerfed… it gets to where i don't want to risk my time on the current content cause I know it will just be wiped out
I think they have completely put their fingers in their ears about good qualities of the og game just because they were the ones to save it.
But now it's gone a bit too far in this "on the rails" direction and lost the last shreds of getting the best of both..
idk the content is great, the combat……..tbh i have just pretended to have fun with raids for a while because grouping is fun but the actual gameplay has some weird principles guiding it…
My 3 questions to Yoshi p are : when will we be getting more glam plates? Also, on the topic of glam plates, when? Follow up to the glam plate question, but when we get more glam plates, this will be when? … This is probably why I'd never be invited to any events 🤔
Blizzard had pros in motivation control! ^^
I may be off on this but when Yoshi P is talking about the dev cost, I don't think he means purely financial. The time and effort it can take to code some of these programs is really hard to pin down so it can be difficult to predict and sometimes throwing more people at it only makes it that much more time consuming. There's even been cases of devs getting stuck on a problem for weeks or even months that's essential to make the game work only to accidentally find the solution. They'll look at the code, do all the deconstructing they want and still be unable to tell you why certain things function. A game that had such a scuffed dev cycle as ARR did is bound to have tons of this in it, making it even worse. Any future updates could break whatever magic they employed to get it to work before so even tiny changes take longer than you might expect.
I wish they got rid of the physical job stone. Would free up room for other things.
