  1. You really only see negativity and drama because people that are happy with the game, just play the game. The people who are unhappy are the ones looking for an outlet to voice their opinions.

That's the problem with social media in general too.

  2. I like the idea for this video. I do appreciate criticism, but you should be able to praise something without being called a shill, too.

I have enjoyed post-EW. I am in love with the callbacks to FFIV. I love the story. I want to know what Golbez is planning, and how the Watcher on the 13th factors in. I love the hell out of Zero, and I still wish I could go back to Zero's Domain. I would love to find a way to save the 13th, if such a thing is even possible.

I'm even enjoying the side activities. Crafting these past few patches has been a blast. I loved every moment of the Omicron questline, and I'm enjoying the hell out of the Loporrit quests.

I appreciate that those things aren't everyone's cup of tea, but if they have a right to criticize, I have a right to praise. I'm genuinely enjoying the game right now, and I'm pretty damn excited for 6.4. I want to see what this "big" Island Sanctuary update is (yep, I'm enjoying that, too–fight me😂).

  3. Another great vid from you. The importance of music is often overlooked, but it sets this game apart as with the story. BiS is to get you to lvl 96 in 7.0 without having to upgrade haha. While ur right about only needed the min ilvl to clear content, sometimes that will exclude you from certain groups/parties. That's the only asterix I'd add to your point. Loved this vid and already anticipating your next one !

  4. Oh and @Aitherea, did you watch ArtharaFF14's latest vid on the community and why creators quit 14? It's an interesting counterpoint to what you were saying about the community. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts.
And P.S. raids can mostly be soloed outside of EW ones, or at least duoed, except for alliance raids where you need min 3 people.

  5. Most drama that we have isnt even really related to the game itself but people being upset about nothing. I think, overall the game fosters a friendly environment. Some might call it "supressive" or "passive aggressive", since youre discouraged to speek your mind, but you cant tell me its helpfull to "speek your mind" to a random player whom you'll probably never meet again ever. Nobody would "speek their mind" to a random person on the street, face-to-face – why then in a game?

I think FF14 makes a very good mix when it comes to different styles, and I mean generally. The music ranges from classic tunes and calm ambient tracks to rock and pop pieces. Same, as you already said, where glam/clothing for our characters is concerned: we can put on modern stuff, steam punk, high fantasy, medieval, and pretty much everything under the rainbow. The game itself is no set-in-stone genre, either: at first glance, its a european-medieval fantasy-themed game, but the deeper you dig, the more things get mixed up. And the best part: nothing feels out of place. It might take some getting used to ("Cars?? In MY fantasy game??!" ;D ) but where in other games those extremes are often garish, FF14 manages to create a breathing world where everything has its place.

And lets not forget that every sort of player can find their favorite content here, whether thats challenging content (Kugane Tower 😉 ), more relaxed stuff (fishing) or economic dominion (crafting). It might take a while to get there (the game is almost ten years old after all), but I think we can all say with all confidence: its all worth it 🙂 And besides, it feels nice to accomplish something through ones own actions – even if said something is within the bounds of an online game 😀
