  1. Dude, respect. It's hard to leave people you like alone when you see them in public like that, but I like to think he probably appreciated it. I once saw a musician that I like (and had met before) walking around DisneyWorld with the "famous person" escort and his wife and child, and it was SO HARD for me, but I too decided to leave him alone…. and when I think back on it now, I'm glad I had the self control to do that. The man was on vacation family time, not trying to interface with fans… just as it sounds from your story like Yoshi-P was just trying to have a quiet moment to himself in the craziness of Fanfest. It can be easy to forget that our "idols" are just human too, but y'know… they are, and they sometimes need "off" time just like the rest of us.

    Good on ya, JC.

  2. You just know Yoshi-P had to have been overwhelmed in there if he willingly stood out in the scorching Vegas heat just to get a minute away from it. Good on ya Jesse for letting him have his minute in peace

  3. I would have bowed in his direction and said, Arigato Yoshi-San, and then gently blessed his rest and inspiration then been like, omg that was Yoshi p.

Props to you Jesse ❤️👌 classy man 🙂

  4. same thing happened when daigo showed up at my FGC locals for canada cup that weekend. I was in the back of the bar taking a breather and I see him walk into the same area, looked left and right to see nobody else was there, and then he just dropped his head on the table and took like a 5-second breather. 😢

  5. I once saw a very successful person in my field, a minor celebrity very much like Yoshi P at a convention doing the exact same thing.

Now, we're told and taught to take every single opportunity to talk to them. "If you just say anything they want to hear they might offer you a job!". But it was clear while I was watching him that he did not want to talk to anyone, and then he made eye contact with me.

So I just gave him a thumbs up. I didn't move towards him, I just silently said" Hey, you're doing good, happy to see you :)" and was going to leave it at that.

He came over, talked to me, I have his phone number saved in my contacts now.

  6. I'm so sad I didn't get to meet you or Synodic Scribe at fanfest. I looked for both of you but never found either of you. 🙁 I did see Synodic Scribe walk the cosplay stage, but then he disappeared. lol!
