  1. If you come back to the Rising Stones in Revenan't Toll, enter the room with beds where Scion's bodies laid you can speak there with Urianger who proposes a theory that the name of god Azim comes from Azem. So you (WoL) is basically the prototype of the God of Sun.

  2. Also I saw a theory on reddit that G'raha Tia is a sundered form of Hythlodaeus. He used the same shush emote speaking about his trump card (isn't it enough since we recognized Emet Selch by a snap and hand wave?). Probably it's the reason he cherishes WoL so much and wants to befriend them.

  3. What Ishikawa is thinking when writing: let's see which of our players have hearts, and let me see what kind of a rollercoaster of emotions I can put them through until they cry.

  4. People rarely talk about the paradox of saving Graha Tia(future) by essentially killing Graha Tia(present) in the source. They installed the future Graha's mind and memories into the present Graha's body, overwriting it.

  5. 14 convocation members, only 3 were unsundered. The rest are splintered souls, and lower in power & rank. You are of the seat of Azem, an Ascian sundered but 7th time rejoined. 8 including Ardbert. Ever notice how when you start the game, you already have the spells Teleport and Return when no other have? It's a power of a strong Ascian! Everyone else has to walk, run, take transport everywhere, but your character once attuned to the aetherial sea (aetherites) can instant teleport to & from, with a very similar animation that Ascian teleport has.

  6. Yet again, great vid. So, so, so many things to discuss from this!

    * You both commented on 'little' Elidibus upon his defeat – You're right! He was a child when he became the heart of Zodiark.
    * You are Azem, the 14th seat of the convocation. Emet-selch, your greatest friend, made the crystal for you in secret.
    * The vessels containing the soul and memories of your comrades can't be mixed up as the soul knows it's own body. (I don't think you mentioned this but people normally do)
    * Fandaniel is one of the sundered – an Ascian restored by one of the unsundered (ie Lahabrea, Elidibus, or Emet-selch).

All of the above is mentioned or implied in the story earlier.

Love you both, and your cats.

  7. Congrats on making it through 5.3. This patch was a gut-wrencher, but thoroughly satisfying, even if there are many tears. Enjoy the next part, we will all be waiting.

To round out ShB, the Sorrow of Werlyt storyline (Trials) will give you a lot more background on key figures.

  8. I finished all ShB post-patch a couple hours ago, but the ending of this particular patch will stay with me forever. So good, hits all the emotions. Better than any movie I’ve watched or book I’ve read in a very long time.

  9. Love it, love it love it. I finished the 5.3 yesterday and just re-experienced it with you guys again. The feels were hard to contain both times. Your reactions mirrored mine almost word for word at times <3 This game is truly an entertainment on another level.

  10. 1:04:48 when you’re walking in as the doors close behind you and you turn your head back slightly is a mirror of when G’raha walked in there at the end of WoD ;( the story telling here just wraps up so nicely, all those years ago to now. It’s beautiful.

  11. As a note for you both, you'll want to do Stormblood's 8 man raids. He Omega storyline is full of fun FF references… but the lead writer for Endwalker has suggested everyone run those too for EW.

  12. For me The Exarch and Lyna are Father and Doughter, it makes the most sense to me.

Elidibus Ascian Form looked for me that he was only a child when he became the heart of Zodiark. He looked so smal compared to other Ascians.

  13. If you haven't seen it yet, now that you've finished 5.3, I highly recommend the sidestory Square posted "Ere our Curtain Falls", from the Tales from the Shadows series on their website. It gives a little backstory for Elidibus from Emets point of view and it makes it so much more emotional

  14. I like to think of Elidibus as Post-ARR Alphinaud, he is a young man. especially young in ascian age, He was like Alphi and wanted to do the best for his realm.
When everything with the bluecoats, all the hardships, you forget how young alphinaud was. Elidibus made such a big sacrifice to for his people, but it went to the bad ending, everything he tried all he loved slipped away.

  15. Shadowbringers and particularly patch 5.3 is just outstanding! What a marvelous story! If the next expansion is half as good as Shadowbringers i will die a happy man.

  16. When I saw the Exarch "last words" told by Beq Lugg I couldn't help but make the parallel with Elidibus, almost everything said could apply to him.
I agree with you completely, if the story of the game would end after Alisae's jump I would be happy and satisfied. Even after completing the rest of the MSQ, I have almost zero interest in the remaining antagonists after Emet and Elidibus demise.
