The Twinning | FFXIV: Shadowbringers

How long before someone cringes at my rotation wh e e z e

Jokes aside, I apologize if i didn’t do it right. D:

This was already recorded after 5.0 so any mistakes I did during the dungeon as tank, I probably improved by then.

If not, then I am still learning. No harm done if I didn’t get it right.
Taking on new roles is still something I need to adjust besides being DRG so ye. ; w ;

Otherwise, this dungeon was fun! I had a good time doing it with my friends.
They were nice enough to let me tank when I asked to take charge of the dungeon, and exploring it was even more interesting. They mentioned I did okay, but I still think I need to practice more.

I also took on just put more gameplay in this dungeon than the other dungeons I edited, but my self esteem isn’t the greatest so pls be gentle loll.

And with that, please enjoy and look forward to the next video as always. 😀

  1. Damn, I just realised the Thermocoil Boilbusters are probably a reference to the Thermocoil Boilmaster kettle which Tataru mentions to Nero/ the kettle in the Omega raid which makes sense since both it and the death robots are Ironwork's creations. This is one of the things I love about FF14, those little details you only pick up on after seeing it multiple times.

  3. I haven't been able to comment as much due to starting a new job (night shift suuucccckkks) but at least i got up early to watch this one.

To put in perspective of how much i love this dungeon, i started playing this game just before 5.3 came out in late august. I started playing bc a video of this song came up in my youtube feed.

I now have more than 80 days of playtime, not including my alt.

THIS DUNGEON IS SO FUCKING COOL AND I LOVE THE MUSIC AND THE LOCATION AND SOME OF THE BOSSES ARE FROM FF13 AND THE FINAL BOSS IS A MOTHERFUCKING REVERSE ENGINEERED PRIMAL OF MY FAVORITE RAID SERIES IN THE GAME ALL IN ONE FUCKING PACKAGE AND INCLUDES TIME TRAVEL LORE.

so yeah, this one means a lot to me. I'm glad you loved it as well!

  4. Nero can build up an ultima weapon with spare parts in the castrum,
but he can't figure out how to fill up a kettle. SO he decided to give the kettle arms and things, so it would supposedly
    fill itself up.
    What could POSSIBLY go WRONG?

  5. Here's a trick about the first boss that many people seem to be unaware of: You can avoid being hit by the Augurium tankbuster. You just need to move to the sides or away from the boss as he's casting it. The boss actually gets locked in place by the attack's animation and does the tankbuster cleave where he's standing, so you can just be on the side and he just cleaves the air.
It's a lot like Ravana's Tapaysa cleave attack where after you get struck by the first hit, you can move away to avoid the next two rapid hits.

  6. I've just recently reluctantly dipped my toe into the tanking pool after years of only playing dps and healer. I've been very nervous on each new dungeon I run but watching you dive in and tank this blind really helped encourage me to keep working at it. I'm slowly getting more confident and hope I can get as good (and confident) as you are! Thank you so much for sharing this!

  7. One thing I learned in my years playing this game and every savage/ultimate fight I cleared is this: Wipes don't matter. I always tell people even if you do something really stupid and completely ruin a pull that maybe could have been saved, it just doesn't matter. You pick yourself back up and go again, no big deal.

  8. Ysa! You're spoiling us! Videos 3 days in a row!

    Not that I'm complaining…

Also, about those pictures you saw in the Tycoon room, they're from the 3 raid lines involving Cid: Crystal Tower, Alexander, and Omega. It's fitting because the future Garlondworks had to use info and resources involving those 3 things in order to send Tia to the First.

Ahhhh 44k ain't bad… it's when you get those tank busters that hit for 90% of your hp that you need to apologise to your healer(s) XD

Also, I don't think it's been mentioned in the comments so far but the music is a hybrid of the various other raid bosses that helped the Ironworks project – in the verse you have the Syrcus Tower theme as the main melody, the vocal melody from eScape (O11 theme) and the bassline from Rise (A12). And as you know now, information from Alexander was used in the project for its time travel capabilities, Omega was used for its ability to traverse the rift, and the Crystal Tower was used to power it all. It's a really cool bit of story telling told through just the music which is already a super cool theme ^^
