You were playing Sage when talking about DRK using Living Dead and I was waiting for "the most efficient tool to heal living dead is swiftcast -> rez" 😉
Another solid healing video though. Good stuff.
The best way I've heard reactive vs proactive, and why the latter is inherently more efficient, in XIV healing described as 'healing after the damage that hurts people vs healing before the damage that kills people'
This is p revelatory framing bc it means that even 'pure' healers like WHM can and should adopt a proactive mentality to an extent as actually thinking ahead about oncoming damage, assuming nothing goes drastically wrong from player error, will always lead to a better use of your resources no matter what they are
typo at 0:45 🙁 whoops
Momo always has the best healing videos! Very informative but for the most part, easy to under stand. And usually not too overwhelming either. Excited to see where this series will go as I feel like I've never really had anyone to teach me how to be a better healer, so this is great c:
great video as someone whos been a tank main and making the switch to healer this expansion i really appreciate videos like this
Maybe because im a smooth brain tank…but healing seems way more complicated than any job. I cant wait for the rest of this series because ive never wanted to play healer until Sage. I look forward to more videos! <3
I know this is a general video for introduction to philosophy of healing but I just want to put a little tip for everyone for dungeons specifically. Dungeons are supposed to be one of the easier content in the game so you will get tanks and dps with wildly different skill levels. As healers, we need to adjust the most and if that means not damaging as much to heal the tank who's not mitigating much, you need to do that to save the run! Don't fall into the trap of mindlessly spamming aoes; the mark of a great healer is being able to adjust to any situation.
Don't react negatively and turn it into a blame game either, just take it as an opportunity to practice maximising your dps in a tricky situation. It will help you get better at healing in the long run. There's been very few situations where I was not able to salvage the run by using every resource I have and that is fun in its own way.
