  1. The MSQ expac was decent enough. Wasn't mind blowing but fun. Tripped over a several times but we got where we needed to go at least lol. Definitely had the ARR vibes you mentioned. I hope the writing team does follow up on improving what they faltered on. I hope this following in Azem's footsteps leads to something amazing.

  2. As far as there being no "villain behind the scenes," I expect that to happen in the patches. Otherwise it's very odd that they introduced lore about scientists that discovered a way to merge with the source, implemented a way to retrieve and cleanse souls and establish the endless, all for them to "stop their research and disappear." That's what i have my eyes on the most currently

  3. I am thinking post patches will expand upon the whole dimension subplot and azem dimension jump power and we might get another shard that's not in disarray and actually is prospering as enemies for the next expansion where azem power saves the day.

The expansion wasn't as good as endwalker or ShadowBringers but it was still fun and people who hate wuklamat are FOOLS.

  4. I can’t tell you how happy I was that you saw the symbol on the key / chalice. I’ve watched so many streamers not even notice. I had a similar freak out moment like you did when I got to the final fight.

  5. Eren-mommy. 😭😭Honestly, I swear I really shouldn't get attached to highly likable personalities in games like this, because they're all doomed. Doomed I tell ya! In any case, it was great to catch this part live and be there with the crowd in game to watch you finish up the MSQ. You've created a good community around you over the years, Jesse.

  6. On the subject of Azem's symbol: It's the alchemical symbol for the Sun, which is supposed to evoke travel because the rest of the convocation's crystals are all constellations and the sun "travels" between constellations as the year goes by. That being said, I don't think that it's an accident that it being circular and evoking a kind of "orbit" is accidental when it comes to their using it to represent Azem. Azem's nature was cyclical, they never stayed still for very long, instead choosing to travel from place to place solving issues. Arrive, help, leave, arrive, help, leave ad infinitum, much like the WoL. To me it also invokes imagery of the Yin-Yang symbol and, with it, the idea of balance, order v chaos, etc. It's a major symbol in Taoism as well which is about harmony, balance, and "going with the flow": not struggling against the river of the universe. And while our actions seem counterintuitive to that idea, if we reframe the WoL not as a person fighting against the flow but a cosmic force that is a part of the flow itself, part of the universe's attempt to create balance, it fits a lot better. But I'm probably reading too much into it, I"m just yappin'.

  7. If they really want to downgrade our power somewhat believably, I need another Shard of Azem to be the villain and to take the crystal. Like one that has absorbed other shards (like we did Ardbert, but evilly TM), I can only see us losing to a character like that beleivably.

  8. This final zone made me feel really bad for Erenville. If not for Sphene and Zoraal Ja mucking about he would've been on a 30 min train ride see his mother. Instead he never gets to see her again and the closest thing he can do is find closure with a soulless mass of data and memory.

Guess it just shows you that you can't take your loved ones for granted. You never know what could happen to them.

  9. If I recall, Sphene's crown is an exceptionally powerful regulator. So seeing the crown may mean we may see a reincarnation of her in the future perhaps, or at the very least, it may serve as a post msq maguffin for who succeeds her as the ruler of reason for Alexandria. Only time will tell.

  10. I suppose this is merely conjecture, but I like to think that the Queen Eternal was the 'prime directive' part of the Endless Sphene that was forcibly hardcoded into her (hence the symbolism of the chained up doll on her chassis), and when we destroyed that, all that was left was the 'kind' Sphene that we got to know, now free from the burden of her living self and the prime directive both. It's rather bittersweet that she shortly blips out of existence after, but I suppose it was for the best.

  11. Like I said in a previous video.
Ascians uplifted sharded members of the convocation to fill their roles. Who's to say that they didn't do it with Azem only for him to immediately go off mission.
Afterall, if you're going to reunite the Source why not start by reuniting the Convocation of 14

  12. The last zone was a trip that was similar but different to Endwalker. It's like we were the janitor turning the lights off… but with a lot of feels behind it between three different people getting closure that they needed. So yeah, I agree with Jessie in my own way that those that didn't get closure in Endwalker got it here. It's the end of the Hero's Journey, with us as the mentor with Wuk Lamat as the hero (and I will freely say we can disagree on parts of the expansion… but that's really what we are. The mentor that has legit gone through SO MUCH and has been SO FAR that we're making sure other people can get pulled up to a new light. Execution can be iffy here and there… but it's still an expansion that is good enough to set up a LOT of new threads).

  13. I've been waiting for Jesse to see that moment with the Azem symbol. If there's any proof that he's on to something, it's that right there. The next few patches are gonna be very interesting…

  14. I think the only thing that genuinely peeved me about our scenes with Sphene is that we never just sat down with her and regaled our adventures in Ultima Thule nor our porxies for aetheric imbalance sickness. I just feel like if she heard what the denizens of Ultima Thule were like, she could be like "well hang on a darn minute, that's basically Living Memory, but using Dynamis as an energy source." I get the whole porxie business might be patch story content, but not even saying anything at all?
