  1. FATEs need a massive overhaul. Every FATE, every single one of them, is just a "Kill X number of mobs" FATE. Even the gather items FATEs are just killing X number of mobs in disguise. If we're going to only have kill FATEs then at least be somewhat creative with them. Why is it that the only FATE to have done this was the one boss FATE in The Peaks where the boss starts in one point, and you have to kill it before they reach the town? Why was that concept never used again? Is this truly the limit of their creativity? Why is it that the only thing they've done with FATEs is an EXP boost and some mediocre rewards (Garlean boxes….wow)?

  2. more solo instances and maybe make some roleplay elements that make the duty harder or easier does the WOL help people or does he go straight for what is needing to be done? this can make things harder or easier in some ways maybe there can be some added flavor text based on how your character does these instances.

    Bring back hard modes of dungeons I would really like to revisit Hyperboria, The Burn, MT Gulg, or Haukke Manor etx we keep getting new areas and each of those areas has like one or two dungeons, there should be more to all the areas.

    FR imagine if we got Dead Ends Hard mode and it takes us to Dragon star and you fight Midgar or something equal maybe CU3 could make something original what does the moon on the 1st look like? etx and etc they have so much content. xD

  3. I think we need some surprises. Every expansion they tell you exactly what you're getting long before its release and while that's good to an extent it doesn't really give the players any sense of anticipation as to what they might get. What if they quietly dropped beards or something akin to Odin walking? This I think would greatly increase anticipation for each patch, obviously they need to tell the players something about upcoming patches to get excited initially like Beast master and cosmic exploration for example. But maybe not tell the players that "Oh btw we're dropping new mystic dyes that give you aura effects in cosmic exploration" and it'd just be something found like hey mine this node during this weather and you get. Something to make the players want to explore.

  4. Similar to the idea of NG+ awarding exp, I think completing the expansion's MSQ should unlock an increased exp multiplier to all of its non-MSQ quests. Right now, they are worth less than the level 1 hunt daily bill's targets.

  5. I hope they jack up the xp gain from sidequests. I get that they are more for little bits of world building here and there and some give nice little rewards like emotes, minions etc. But the XP gain feels so low it's almost pointless. I know myself and a lot of friends just leave our maps cluttered with sidequests because why spend so much time doing the quests when each one only gives about 1% of your xp bar? I've started doing the sidequests out of pure max-level boredom and…GOD DAMN some of them are very well written, but they feel like they aren't worth it. And with them being just a one-and-done thing, they are in no way a reliable method of levelling. They should maybe triple or quadruple the XP gain from sidequests, make people WANT to do them, and let more people experience these stories. It's good content being missed out on by so many people because the XP gain is so small

Since job balance is completely dead and there's no logic to the how much or little damage a job does now, I'd like to see them experiment with job identity and everything involved with the actions and animations. They could make every job feel very unique and update all of the actions if they used the PvP actions as a basis and built on them from there. We lived through an ultimate and an entire expansion with zero job balancing, that's no longer an excuse for why they don't go all the way with jobs anymore.

  7. The beard options suck because Japanese people don't like facial hair.
    Most of the guys can't grow it so they don't like it and most of the women have been raised to dislike it by those same men.

  8. I just want something to do in-between farming tomes and upgrade materials. I login to do my dailys and weekly then log off unless I want to work on crafting or island sanctuary. it's just too repetitive and I'm not talking about weapon farming because I am done with fates….I've done atmas, bozja, and eureka. NO MORE. It's not fun and manderville weapons made crafting hell. I'd rather them reuse the bozja area for us to rebuild just make it so that we can que while gathering. HELL, I'll even take an island sanctuary update because at least I logged in every day for that.

  9. One thing I think FF14 could benefit from doing on occasion is shadow releasing content. (If they have done this in the past please let me know) Destiny is the only thing I have for comparison for MMOs and Destiny would occasionally just drop a piece of content, tell no one, and wait for us to discover it ourselves.

  10. An updated character creator is something i desperately want! They could use it to make more varied characters in the open world, and even fix the hrothgar hair/face connection issue

  11. Ya, I don’t understand the cc creator. It’s so bad. They updated to new graphics but didn’t add more face plates. Nothing worse than seeing ur wol as a npc in a cutscene lol

  12. The hunt system in the game needs an update. Especially with non-elite mobs. Give me an assignment to kill 50 of one mob and increase the reward from 75 nuts to 200 or something. Give me slayer tasks from OSRS.

It's funny, while, sure, people can down like the video, if you said any of this VERY REASONABLE suggestion on something like the FF14 subreddit, this would get dogpiled by apologists that I have to assume are purely delusional that everything here is just the peak of perfection in MMO design.

    FATES at the minimum should be rewarding at least double the gems as base and we should be able to hold like 5k or even more. The currency limits are just so stupid across the board, but 1500 gems is just dumb.

    Also 14 should have a roadmap. That's it, a damn roadmap of content.

  14. I want the devs to develop this game with the confidence of people that have spent 10 years with the same system

    Or sunset ff14 and make ff14-2 without the spaghetti code so they can add shit in a timely manner like the MOBILE GAME can

  15. The inability to level alt jobs with NG+ is fucking WILD

    You'd think they'd want to incentivize other routes to funnel players into old dungeons rather than just relying on goddamn roulettes to do it instead

  16. rival wings and criterion dungeons added to duty finder. some way to get the bozja and eureka raids into the duty finder (yes with abilities needed it'll be weird but with creativity anything is possible)
    update character creator, its so so sooooo bad.
    i'm an alt-aholic but i don't enjoy redoing the entire story, i will buy story skips but i would love to redo specific expansions for the leveling. as is i usually play through most of ARR before i use my level skip just to get me to lvl 50 so i can use the roulette.
    this game is very alt unfriendly. let us keep our shared fates achievement across characters. (that cash shop items are one character only keeps me from buying so many things as well)
    rework island sanctuaries. so much potential wasted on a spreadsheet simulator.

It always makes me laugh whenever Yoshi-p hypes up stuff like limited jobs at an expansion announcement event cuz I know that shit is not coming until at least 2 years after the announcement 😭😭 this game’s content cadence is absolute dogshit, it reminded me of the last patch of warlords of draenor, that’s how terrible it is lmfao and that really says something especially now since world of warcraft is going absolutely crazy with their content cadence right now.

  18. I agree that there's nothing to do at the start of the expac. SE should add replayable content at the start, like variant dungeon and something other, like cosmic exploration you mention.
    Something like " make open zones more interesting" is more substantial thing to do, but it SHOULD be done. I can't be the only who don't care about the location I'm in beyond the first time seeing it.
    I also don't know why they stopped adding passive mobs to open zones, everything is trying to kill you now, lol

  19. I completely agree about wanting new/more variety in solo duties during MSQ, I really felt the lack of interactive storytelling during Dawntrail. The whole time I was watching the train cutscene and characters shooting off enemies, I kept thinking, wow. Kinda boring to watch Cutscene WoL do this. I bet it would have been really fun to play. Y'know…. like a video game…

  20. Side quest exp rewards are so lackluster that unless there's something locked behind it (such as an aether current or beast tribe) I just haven't done 90% of them.

    These could be a great way to level alt-jobs, but also, I'd like to see fewer quests but have them be longer and a bit more in-depth. As is most of them follow the talk to A, wait at B, talk to A again.

    A couple more with cool little mini-bosses or just slightly engaging gameplay of any kind.

  21. Doing MSQ over and over again is MUCH more boring than running dungeons. Even if you are skipping CS, its just running, clicking, running, clicking. I have alts, i have done this many, many times.
    People complain there isnt content, but then do everything to get over content ASAP. What do you want? Get 100 checkmark on every job(without effort, ofc..), then have nothing to do? Why are you even doing it? Oh wow, i have 100 rdm. I havent played it besides few instances, but i have him. Great.
    You are basically complaining you have to RPG in the RPG. You suppose to learn the job by leveling, not level it up and then learn the job.
    And finally, this is 6th expansion. Every expansion is the same. In HW and SB, you didnt even get enough XP from MSQ to keep up with MSQ level req. and so you had to run few extra dungeons and fates between. Doing content, not just by clicking and getting xp for free.
    If its not fun for you to level up job, then just dont fo it. Even less complain about it….

  22. 1) side quests need an overhaul. This includes hunt bills, and the regional quests outside of MSQ. Currently there's no need to do any of these. Update the rewards, and make the GC hunt log go all the way to max level.

    2) give us a reason to be in the open world, rather than AFK in a hub city. We used to grind FATEs for the relic quest, lets do that again. A small handful of crafting requires old content materials, and that should be expanded. Special FATEs that feature world bosses need to drop the items themselves, instead of a stupid token to run back to town for.

  23. 1) Better exploration in the world. Add more dangerous enemies and make it more like Eureka in the regular world, different objectives like open world dungeons, and refresh the way fates work. Take notes from Guild Wars 2 in this aspect.

    2) Better combat design. Allow players to interrupt the bosses again like bards in OG T1 coils. Less homogeneous jobs.

    3) Allow players to fail even in story quests. Ignore the braindead players that only know how to hit their 3 button combo. Force them to have to get better in order to make it through the story. Not asking for extreme levels of difficulty, but make players have to use most of their kits to get through.

    4) Stop using templates for your dungeons. Make them unique instead of just reskins.

    5) Reinvest in the game. Stop taking the massive profits from the game and using it all elsewhere. The budget should get expanded as the game earns more. I understand not all of it can go back into the game, but it should be expanded based on how much the game is making.

  24. Totally agree mate – I hate how things are so broken up and I also hate we get one raid tier/ one level of the alliance raid especially as a story is normally attached to them

  25. I personally would kill for some content that makes me want to do gathers or crafters again kind of like the ishgard restoration. The entire concept of your skills going to a good cause like that while being rewarded was so cool to me when i first did it. But they havent done anything like that since then. I dont touch crafters outside of weekly quests or making new furniture im interested in for my house and i also rarely gather anymore outside of leveling it and that makes me sad cause I actually like doing both but outside those few things maybe making some gil on the side o dont even think about it. I was hoping island sanctuary would be that content but nope not at all. Its just frustrating because theyve proven they can make engaging content for disciples of hand and land but now they just dont seem to care

  26. 3 things for me:
    1. A little more focus on making roulettes more vetran-player friendly. Like allowing us to keep out lvl100 skillset, just lower the power output. I am tired of remembering 6 different rotation based on lvl.

    2. Fix the damn alliance roulette. I am SICK of CT. Just make it so that the ilvl requirements for alliance roulette scales with the player's lvl to prevent them from wearing low lvl gear to force CT.

    3. HATS. FOR. VIERA. I HAVE WAITED 2 YEARS NOW!?

  27. I think the expansion should have released with the new exploration zone as opposed to the savage. I think the beginning of an expansion is when the game has the most interest from a casual player so heavy casual grinds should be around to retain more interest imo.

  28. I think an addition/alternative to #2 could be making the Armory levelling Bonus account-wide, so that alt levelling is way easier. I’m unsure how they could do NG+ as an exp source without people abusing it to skipping CSs to get ridiculously quick levels. I dont dislike the concept though.

    Also I agree that they shouldnt add new races and instead fix the existing issues with races.(like Au Ra, Viera, and Hrothgar)

  29. 1. Give Viera and Hrothgar hats!
    2. Redo the glamor system so we aren’t limited to 500-600 clothing/weapon items
    3. Varied MSQ combat.
    4. I love the endgame+ gives exp/rewards idea
    5. More varied ways to level the Trust npcs. Just doing the dungeons 20 times is frustrating, especially since dying means having to reset the boss battle

  30. I want something more than 1 room 1 boss fights for raids… Every single boss fight in the game is exactly the same.

    Heck, health doesn’t even matter… everything is 1 hit 1 kill with an occasional mix up and allow 2. Just memorize the positions you need to stand and you win. Every fight. How about we actually make damage matter?

But, you spoke so fast in terms of words per minuet count (lets call it that) that I didn't understand your frist two points really. also with the gameplay footage at the end, I felt a bit distracted. so what excatly was your problem??

  32. 1: Better story
    2: Don't feed us content in BITES and called it a big CONTENT drop when they throw it in a span of weeks to keep people subbed
    3: Better job design – look at healers – me doing Ast in FRU atm is fun, but its so.. ugh, my finger hurts from pressing 2
    4: World content , with good rewards and not boring Materia or cosmetic that just don't fit
    5: Stop putting IRL clothing and things for glamour in a shop for 25euros and makes us earn them somewhat?
    6: Grinding content, stuff like eureka with cool end rewards and a good ending
    7: Honesty and not this corporate SB talk they are holding currently with absolute silence and "please look forward to it" isn't cutting it anymore
    8: For me personally, more housing things, better and more interesting development of it, so much potential yet it feels thrown aside and only given a couple items each patch (yes i know they changed the interior etc)

    9: And that's something i don't have to come up with – innovate the game as a whole , they have designers, small people on their team, the have proven it, make something to capture the players again –
