FFXIV tooltips were leaked on October 5, 2021.
It is suspected that these tooltips where leaked from the media tour.
Square Enix host the media tour and invite content creators to playtest upcoming expansions and interview developers, including Yoshi-P.

Sfia brings up a point I think a lot of people need to recognize:
Media Tour Tool Tips don't mean jack. It's a beta build, and they can and will make adjustments before it's live.
Hell, in ShB they were still making changes in the month between 5.0 launch and 5.05 raid release.
Like, leaks suck but even if they're real, they're not final.

If square enix was smart… and they are they would drop a code into those image pngs for each different streamer so they can tell who spilled the beans. after last time i would be surprised if they are not banned already. anyone know of someone who went to the tour and has not been shown playing FF sence then?

It's good that most of them have the integrity not to talk about it. The one oddity is that it took this long. Unless the person was worried about subtle watermarks and had to make sure they were erased.
I don't get it. You can trudge an extra week and have everyone be excited for your version of show-and-tell, or make SquEnix shut it down and never have these types of pre-release events ever again.
Tbf, the tool tips leak every expansion, they do nothing to catch or prevent such things from happening. That aside, we saw RPR, SGE, NIN, MNK, and few others tool tips during the Live Letter. So i really dont see how this would be any worse. They didnt try and hit it during the LL. We saw the job action trailer, the only thing people want are tool tips. And the only people that want them are the raiders, the casual players dont give af about tooltips.

i get they can't talk about leaks cause they are part of the media tour, but anyone else? who the fuck cares, talking and theorizing is fun, yes we know it could all be different in EW so what? when you finish a season of a tv series do you not talk about what could happen just because it can be different? lmao
Problem with leaking this stuff early is that they're screwing over their peers and fellow content creators. Everyone is working on and polishing their videos/content for when the embargo lifts, and this leaker just goes ahead and FUCKS everyone else over.
