Square Enix' Mindset Might Kill FFXIV – Lack of Rewards & Content?

What do you think? Are the lack of Rewards in general,
or the lack of variation how to get them, the main issue of FFXIV?

  1. So the 1%tryhards have nothing to do?

LMAO, patch after patch adds lots of 1% content (Savage, Ultimate, etc) while throwing out a few crumbs to the 99% in the form of lame MSQ quests.

If you want to leave due to lack of phat lewt for the top 1% you won't be missed, really.

  2. I am so bored ingame atm. that I cannot get myself to log in…it seems more and more geared towards 12-14yrs olds. Can we PLEASE write the story for older ppl than that?!? I am not a kid…

  3. If you look closely at the quantity and quality of trials, raids, new quests and mechanics

You will see degradation from update to update.

Even relic weapons have become much easier to make

bozja was too simple compared to Eureka

They need more complex content that spits in the player's face instead of talking to them like a kid

  4. Time is not the problem its content like relics weapons needs more then just looks need something special like a spell or skill also make jobs like blue mage more blue ideal something to keep ppl going also a campaign where you got rare things like ff11 did that also would be nice other ways to challenge other plays etc

  5. The game is at a point where the juice isn't worth the squeeze but we do have a lot of content coming up in 6.3. The one MAJOR item that frustrates me is no update on Viera and Hrothgar hats and there is even a modder based in Australia that has done all that work to keep the community happy but yet what's keeping the game alive is the community. SE just needs to get their head out of their ass and start doing the right thing and use common sense.

  6. Desperius, think real quick about what you are saying. Moogle tomestones are great, but they are great because they aren't frequent. In addition, if they are the norm for the way you get stuff from "old content", then NO ONE will do said old content. And FFXIV is all about people doing old content, even if Unsync and such, to farm for mounts and some such. The game is the same as it's always been, the content draughts are the same as they always have been. Stop complaining about a non-issue. If you're sick of the game, take a break, come back later. So many people, myself included, do that all the time, and it's what Yoshi-P and team WANT you to do. FFXIV would not be as big as it is if it kept doing things to keep you playing all the time 24/7. It is the way it is specifically because there's not that much that draws you in and keeps you hooked at your screen.

Also, clips on the start are very misleading. You cherry picked clips to make your point. Not to mention the click bait title. I know YTbers have to clickbait, but be a little less shameless my dude.

  7. I'm glad that there is some “free time” and less time limited stuff, but I have also made my thoughts.

I think if they add such feature as you mentioned it would be nice. I also wish they would finally make Achievement Points Useful, I play since release, and they added just 1 new Item to the Reward List (the rest was from the Veteran Rewards). Through that, PPL are also more motivated to do Achievements because atm the currency is useless. (I have 291 and can't, nothing to do with it)

I also would find it cool if you get a Reward for the Birthday (Character Creation Date) or Name Date (which you choose in the char design), but that wouldn't fix the problem. Anyway, it thinks it would be cool anyway.

  8. the problem I have now is that nobody is playing old content anymore.
I want to do the Lv 80 relic weapons but nobody is running delubrum or potd anymore.
PF isn't helpful here. How can I get the weapons now?! That rly sucks!
Same goes for old content high-end trials.. I need some to unlock the mentor roulette but can't find people.
There should be another way! either you have to make old content more attractive or you have to create new ways for giving people a chance completing old content!

  9. There is endless content in ffxiv and they put in new stuff all the time.
If somehow someone gets bored he just needs to stop and play something else, until new content is available.
They have eliminated effectively the useless daily grind and that philosophy made ffxiv the best mmorpg.
If people want daily grinds for content they should play gatcha games.
I cant even believe that someone would prefer to endlessly grind stupid daily quests instead of playing other games…. Jesus….

  10. Aint happening, been barking up that tree since 2014. Besides, you get the best reward already from completing content. The satisfaction of knowing you went through an adventure with 3+ other people. And while there were some hiccups along the way, and it was kinda scary when that 1 tank d/ced for 3 minutes, you all won in the end and you can enjoy that memory for a lifetime 😁……..🤣

  11. It's not like their mindset is the reason why it's succeeding.

This isn't WoW, FFXIV won't begin to die because a bunch of content creators feel like Yoshida's team stumbled on a few things. I REALLY hate when content creators have an issue and speak like the literal millions of players feel 100% the same way.

"Yoshi P is designing the game so you can take breaks? Well fuck him, i want to keep playing and then complain that i have nothing to do!!"

  12. People who have been playing for years know that this is something that ALWAYS happens during the expansion. A "content lull" as some call it. It was really bad during SB as well. I don't remember it being too bad during HW and ShB though but I could be mistaken ( it's been a while.)

Not trying to justify it either, but it's just something that happens in this game. People get upset and leave for a while which is what I believe sparked Yoshi to take up the "it's OK, go play something else and come back" mentality. It does seem just as bad now as I remember it being in SB though. I think for me, it's because the whole expansion so far has been REALLY lackluster. The homogenization of the jobs, the lackluster story, Relics and the new dungeons being a letdown. No deep dungeon yet. Lackluster rewards for new content. I do love the little QoL improvements and Crystaline Conflict is freaking great..and thats coming from someone who typically hates PVP.

I myself have moved on. I've been unsubbed for a few months now but still keep up with the game in hopes that something brings me back. I think at this point I may just wait for the 7.0 announcements.

  13. So, one thing I would have added was the homogenization of roles and the heavily scripted/choreographed instances. I started playing Guild Wars 2 and WOW and it was really nice to not get one shot by everything because I didn’t watch a YouTube video first. I’m a healer main, so for me FFXIV needs to rethink and redesign how they approach healers to bring me back. Fingers crossed!

  14. moogle tombstones for the car mount would be my dream… i joined ffxiv shortly after that last event and wanted the car since i seen it.. currently have nothing to do in game that im interested in. would love at least an event to get past rewards that arent even obtainable at the least for a week or two a month. it'd be something.

  15. Oh no, a handful, literally a half a dozen people announce they're going to quit. This is a classic example of making mountain out a molehill. There's more than enough content and reward already, the real problem is some people play it like a full time job and play it like the game that it isn't and some(streamer and youtubers) try to make a full time career out of it . FFXIV isn't WoW and wasn't designed to be WoW, this is why it succeed where many other mmo has failed. Yoshi made it pretty clear that you don't have to stay subbed and go play other game if you feel unsatisfied. If I wanted a mindless gear grinding maze I would still be playing WoW today.

  16. lack of content is debatable with how our playerbase is (the discussion is just gonna be casual vs hardcore all over again)
lack of rewards, definitely. recent example is criterion reward being nonexistent. this is content that already in the game, don't they want us to play their content? but we don't get anything for doing it? casual player or not, it's fair to expect to get something when you do something, cuz other players (me) would just straight up don't bother doing it.

  17. It's funny because the basic content cycle for FF14 hasn't really changed at all for years. If anything, we have more content and more diverse content now than we did before. Yoshida has been saying for literal years that the game is not intended to or made to be played constantly and yet people don't seem to or want to believe him. Frankly, all I'm seeing here is people who want to play FF14 as a full time job when FF14 was never, and will never be, designed to be played as a full time job.
Now, of course, FF14 does have it's issues and it could certainly use more appealing rewards. And I'm sure most people would have no issues with more content. No one is arguing that. But if you are mad/disappointed/annoyed/etc. because you can't continuously play FF14 for 8 hours a day and can't sustain yourself with a career of just making FF14 content then that's a "you thing" and not a "FF14 thing." The vast, vast, vast majority of people who play the game don't consume the game that way, and the developers aren't going to make the game in that fashion.

  18. I'd like to see the next expansion have us travel to another reflection, but rather than being the sole hero, the WoL's story parallels a larger narrative so they're not the main focus of the story.

  19. In WoW if some part of game is lacking we say they should add more and improve it.
In FFXIV how dare you go do something else quit MADGE!
You can read comments about this topic under Yours video, Zepla, Savix etc literally same people raging insulting attacking because others want some cookies for them.
So much for "good community" at least online you are most toxic people i have ever seen and i play Warzone with proximity chat.

  20. I've been playing the game for like a couple hours every day for almost two years and I still haven't exhausted the content in the game. FFXIV has plenty of content. About the only thing in the video I agree with is that the V&C dungeons could have had better rewards.

If you want to do nothing but to play FFXIV during your free time, you have an unhealthy relationship with the game. Log off. The most rewarding game you can play is IRL.

  21. They need to add more rewards for the new content they introduced. PVP/FL/CC should rolled out more class glam, mounts, and minions. I can't even tell it's a new seasons of CC because there's nothing substantially new to obtain. Criterion Savage rewards are a joke and I don't say that lightly cuz I love this game. Respecting players time goes both ways. Don't force people to stick around but give them a reason to. If that makes sense?

Edit: To be clear, I'm indifferent to content creators as many of them have ulterior motives for their frustrations.

  22. Lack of content? FF14 has more and consistently put out more content then any MMO ever. Some people are a bunch of adult toddlers always tthinking Yoshi P and crew need to enertain them everyday.
