  1. What was surprising to me was the voice actor for the Not Glynard is the same actor for actual Glynard. Derplander and Ardbert are meant to be parallels so it would make sense for them to be the same actor. I don't remember if Ardbert's companions ever had voiced lines, so I don't know if the actors for their trailer counterparts are the same. Ever since the WoDs showed up in HW, it's been clear that their lookalikes are meant to be callbacks to 1.0, in a similar way to all of the content in the game is meant to be callbacks to other FF games. In many respects, this is very true since 1.0 is a very different game from 2.0. The difference is that they are a reminder of what the game was and where it is now and where it was/is headed.

  2. "Ahh! He speaks!"

Hearing the WoL speak was the best part for me lol. Also, this is my first time seeing this trailer. It was dope! I probably would've played 1.0 if I had seen it back in 2010.

  3. It's curious they posted this now…so many interesting possibilities it could lead to…or, it could just be an homage to our roots. I'm trying to not read so much into it and at the same time, noticing a ton of things you were 'hinting' at (avoiding spoilers here, lol) that I never tied to our current timeline especially regarding npcs. As a fellow legacy player I am so hyped to see if this leads to anything but a nostalgia trip. ^^

  4. People who reminisce of 1.0 never played it. There is a very good reason why it was burned to the ground and why it came close to bankrupting the company with its failure.

  5. The fact the leve tile thing he picked was a botanist with a scythe in front of what looks like smoke and people running, now seeing Zenos in th EW trailer, it's insane how much they tied back in and called back to. Looking back on the trailer, it's wild how perfectly the ending kinda lines back up with it.

  6. Regarding the echo comment. I would say that for Derplander, he is seeing a future in the same way that Mikoto experiences (fun fact: the reason why we can see telegraphs is because of our echo showing us the future, the same reason why Fordola could dodge attacks in her cutscene with her borrowed echo aka resonant). For us, the actual WoLs, our echo is showing us both the past and future. Future from the perspective of those players before 1.0 released, and past from the perspective of all current players.

  7. Yo, Iā€™ve been (quietly) advocating for 1.0 to be remade. Perhaps it can be available for people at lv15, just so people arenā€™t so confused about everything while starting the game. The remake would also have a better tutorial system than that sprout guy at adventurers guild. Since I think Bardamā€™s mettle is totally wasted not being the age tutorial.
And we can have it as a theme of WoL going around the survivors and access their memories through Echo. It would totally work.

  8. I posted this on one of my Facebook groups but thereā€™s lots of theories going around and Iā€™m not gonna lie they are really good ones too and I kinda have my own which is as followsā€¦.

It involves time travel back to 1.0 areas and Iā€™m talking about Coerthas Central Highlands as green pastures the old gridania/Uldah/Limsa areas wether it be the cities themselves or just their surrounding zones like thanalan/shroud and la noscea now people who played FFXI will remember Wings of the Goddess expansion where we used the Maws dotted around the FFXI zones in order to go back to the past zones that looked different since it was the past but you could still tell which was which obviously šŸ¤£ well those things are in the 50 Raid in XIVā€¦. I forget which raid it is now and I remember Yoshi P telling us to replay the story for some reason and I think the clue is in what he said replay ā€œthe pastā€ he could have been referencing time travel yeah ok this is just a theory I have but I think it would be cool, with shadowbringers Exarch used the tower to bring us to The First, those Maw things are from what I recall are sorta in the Tower in Eorzea too so perhaps those are what we would use to get into the past?

Again this is just my theory everyone has their own and Iā€™m not bashing a single one as Iā€™ve seen some really cool ones

But all will be revealed come Endwalker release šŸ˜Š

  9. this trailer is a bit an anachronism, the moment the character have the echo we see character that are tie to the story of ShB (don't want to spoil too much) we see even the elezen girl…. but the event of midgarsorm are for the source only…. then it's a weird trailer with a story and element that are conflicting.
