  1. I will not be surprised if two of the contenders for the throne team up and work together to win. Maybe Wuk Lamat and Koana. Having two co-leaders is similar to having a two-headed leader after all.

  2. Honestly, having this information laid out made me wonder if there will be a single Dawn Servant at the end of the expansion; all of the candidates have good positions, while also having a glaring issue, with Wuk Lamat’s issue being a lack of experience. Most likely, Wuk Lamat ends up in charge after learning from the others, but I can also see this ending in a council ruling Tural; it wouldn’t be the first nation to be left heavily reformed in the Warrior of Light’s wake.

  3. So far, it's unclear which candidate is the one that wants to invade Garlemald. I'm assuming it's the two-headed one because he's already described as a racist asshole, and I think we're going to have a three-way contest among the scions with Estinien working for the military guy with one head, Thancred and Urianger working for Koana, and us working for Wuk Lamat.

  4. Personally, I would rather serve Wuk Lamat becasuse she is seems more open to change than the rest. The rest seem rather set in their ways which I find concerning. Koana and Bookul jaja especially. Koana seems so focus on modernizing Tural to which may lead to Tural losing it's cultural identinty just to advance the nation and well Bakool is pretty explanitory. Since I am not a fan of attitude. His everything should be mine because I am a blessed reminds me a certain major we killed back in the day . Pray we only have to humble him and not kill him

  5. My bet is that Wuk Lamat and Koana end up ruling together and serving basically the same function as the two heads; one being strength oriented and the other being mindful. It would be the most neatly handled way of replacing that kind of leader and having the "rivalry" not tear everyone apart.

  6. Honestly, I think we got dragged into helping Wuk Lamat because of the twins. At least, my WoL ended up that way. She wanted to stay out of this fight. We literally just met Wuk Lamat, and my WoL has gotten, shall we say, cynical of people’s true motives. So right now, we’re on a “trust but verify” allegiance with Wuk Lamat. Don’t want her to become another Ilberd.

  7. Obviously I'm rooting for Wuk Lamat, but Koana seems cool enough to the point where I won't mind if he ends up taking the throne.
Also, she states for a fact that Bakool Ja Ja is a warmonger who would sail across the Indigo Deep and conquer Eorzea, and thus he simply can't win

  8. A lot of folks are comparing Wuk to naruto or monkey with their want to be leader but not getting what leadership is. As I dropped Naruto years before he was even close to being Hokage I really hope she doesn't take the throne because I dislike the trope of the shonen dumb ass being leader cause they've got heart! Unless we really show her the hardship of being in charge and she grows or she has more then her I wanna be Pirate King personality I lean towards her brother. But discounting us my money is on the general. As I am a role player I've already actually got my Miqo er soon Hroth siding with the general as a means to test the Scions. As she's been my group's most action heavy and protector of the scions and my friends I game with the idea of her not being on their side and being the lone former Scion in a group felt a lot of fun. At first I was thinking she'd side with two head as a way to sabotage him and test herself, the more I thought of it the more she'd not work with him.

That said as much as I don't want the trope of pirate king hokage to happen I could see this team pulling off what two popular animes have done and are doing but I dislike side note, I started off as a big Naruto fan when the series started but quickly dropped off and stuck with Bleach, and only liked 4kids version of One Piece. Yes I'm odd I know it. But at least Wuk Lamat has an idea what to do as a ruler even if she doesn't know what being a leader is, she at least has a leg up over early 2000s Shonen leads.

  9. As it currently stands, my vote would be for Zoraal Ja.
The thing about Koana is that their vision could be accomplished to some degree without being leader of the nation. Bakool Ja Ja is out of the question cuz more war. As for Wuk Lamat, her heart is in the right place but time will tell if she matures into a capable leader. So for the time being, I'd go with the guy who's got a proven track record for keeping people safe.

  10. Wuk Lamat seems to have her heart in the right place, but we've seen what good intentions with naivete can lead to. She'd need trustworthy comrades to notice when details don't line up and someone is being suspiciously useful all of a sudden. That's why Erenville is a good counterbalance; he's the yin energy to Wuk's yang energy.

Koana has a dream for the future, but I fear that his drive to modernize Tural will meet with resistance if he tries to force it in a short time span. If people think they have no place in the future of their own nation, they may peacefully leave or attempt to sabotage efforts to change everything.

Zoraal Ja sounds capable enough as the head of the peacekeeping force, but how would he adapt to political maneuvering? Where does he want to take his nation into the future?

Bakool Ja Ja is my absolute last pick for possible ruler. His attitude towards anyone lacking two heads bodes ill for a nation made up of different races. Maybe he'll be the antagonist that brings the other three together so they realize that no one of them is perfect to rule alone.

  11. To Wuk Lamat: "I love you. But grow up."
To Koana: "Technology is incredible. But don't forget what's important to your people."
To Zoraal Ja: * gangsta handshake *
    To Bakool Ja Ja: " H A N D S   O F F   M Y   P R E Y . "

  12. Kay be a controversial take but, as much as I love Wuk Lamat I would like to see her lose so her character can be more than a "I want to be hokage" archetype and we can get to know her other dimensions.

  13. Noble as Koana seems, I would worry that rapid advancement of technology without allowing the culture to adjust to those advances will cause unforeseen and possibly disastrous consequences.

  14. I think maybe Wuk, but it depends how willing she is to listen to and more importantly understand her people. Wanting peace is a good trait but at what cost? Will she honour her people or her adopted father. Peace is idealistic but not always realistic and sometimes being so focused on one thing means you don't see the big picture.
Its hard to not think that a little of all 4 is what is needed.

  15. None of them. My WoL wants to stay well clear of politics. On account of not wanting to be framed for regicide. Again. Politics is a nasty field where even the most naive soon grow wiser about. After Endwalker she just wants a vacation. Without the world catching fire, and the only reason she's taking part is more to honor Emet and her role as [redacted].

  16. i'm bet on Wuk and Koana but not her present action,

I think Zoraal Ja will be the best choice and something gonna happen to him force Wuk and Koana work together like 2 head Mamool ja.

the last guy have very least chance because Scions is there, except he change mindset, grow up to learn others.

  17. One claimant represent the possibility of progress, two represent a probable preservation of the status quo under Gulool Ja Ja, and one represents a regression.

While I would prefer Koana's clear vision for a path forward, I anticipate that the three will unite against the blessed siblings. Or worse, one will fall to the blessed siblings before the two survivors unify to stop him.

Of these, I anticipate Zoraal Ja will be targeted by Bakool Ja Ja in an effort to assert his prowess and take control of the Landsguard forces. Should he survive through the intervention of his siblings' allies from the east, he may cede his claim and become a powerful ally himself.

  18. Look, I know she's a shounen protgonist archetype. But Wuk Lamat is my new QUEEN, and I pledge my gunblade to her as Nakama. I will go to the ends of Etheriys and Beyond (and I very much likely will) for that woman.

I also trust the writers to give her enough character development to truly come into her own.

  19. I'm thinking Thancred and Uri are teaming with the catboy. And honestly I'd probably go with him too with our current knowledge. The rothgal seems a bit naive for leadership.

  20. My prediction is that throughout the story, Wuk Lamat will face the reality that she is not mature or experienced enough to rule, and essentially withdraw her bid for the throne. Then, after another contender has been crowned, something nefarious will occur and Wuk Lamat will show decisive bravery and leadership to overcome adversity, and the chosen Dawnservant will relinquish the crown for Wuk Lamat to rule instead.

  21. I like Wuk Lamat, but I am not sure she could lead a nation. At least not how she is now. I'd have to watch her grow. Koana… seems calming… but I don't know if he could do things correctly or if he is going to go down the wrong path. We don't know enough about 1 one headed Mamoo Ja so I am unsure on him. However, he seems to want to keep his father's legacy strong, similar to Wuk Lamat and seems to have a experienced mind. The two headed one… no. Because he wants to be a conqueror.

  22. In an ideal world, and assuming present knowledge is accurate… I'd say Zoraal Ja for Dawnservant, Wuk Lamat to head of Landsguard or similar position where she can develop, and Koana to a chief advisor position in Zoraal Ja's court to temper the rate of advancement. Bakool Ja Ja wins one (1) free asskicking courtesy of the WoL, with possibly more in the future!

  23. If we were actually given a choice, I would go with Zoraal Ja. Zoraal feels like he is the first son of Gulool Ja Ja, and given that he is commander he would have the leadership skills to rule. Wuk Lamat seems too much like a child trying to become ruler too fast, given what we have seen of her already.
As for Koana and Bakool Ja Ja, I have a feeling these two are going to be somewhat the antagonists of the expansion. Bakool Ja Ja will the starting antagonist in the contest portion of the story, but when we hit the Solution-9 section of the story I feel that Koana will more than likely be the cause of the second threat in the story given his drive for technology.

  24. Honestly I do simp for Wuk Lamat. She's a character I love but I do not see her currently as a good choice for the Dawn Throne. Honestly I see Konoa or Zoraal Ja as a better choice for a possible Dawn Servant. I think her heart would be more at ease being free to explore because that adventurer's spirit is strong in her.

  25. Wuk Lamat so far seems like Lyse 2.0, just completely empty idealism with no concrete plan or actions or anything. "I want everyone to be happy!" might be a cute little slogan you can slap on your coffee cup, but that's not how nations work.
Koana might be, from what little we know, someone who thinks technology will solve all problems of the human condition on its own, a claim that becomes more ridiculous as time goes on.
Zoraal Ja is an important military leader in a very young nation, indicating at least some capabilities in regards to leadership and problem solving.
Bakool Ja Ja is obviously set up as either a minor villain or a misguided rival, I would be surprised (pleasantly) if they give him more nuance than that.

I'm probably going to stick to my gut feeling that Erenville will be some sort of lost hero or something and become the new Dawnservant. Let's hope they manage to give him an actual personality by then, because so far I'm not impressed or even interested in him at all.
