  1. that is, Asmon have been playing games with unreal engine 5, like Lost Ark. but, we believe WOW graphics are horrible compare to FF14. FF14 graphic is like FF15, just love it. it is sooo anime. although, wish FF14 look like the lost Ark. there is no surprise many men love to play LostArk, because the attractive female characters. Asmon have said it my times. he is attracted to women with a larger chest.

  2. I wish he play Ninja and then complain about how fast the game is and how hard for him to adapt… also saying ff14 should be like ff16 is just dumb cuz even ff16 which is a solo next gen game can’t keep at 60fps all time.

  3. I'm pretty sure his view is like "They're fine. Remember the game ran on the PS3 so yeah it's dated." Also he doesn't care for the art style.

I don't care for the art style either but I just use NVIDIA filters to tweak and I'm good.

  4. Asmongold is a character his chat likes. He says whatever. You can see him look over and make split second decisions and switch gears nearly contradicting on the spot to not piss off chat. Also he is literally a scurv in his "character" or not. I don't know why anyone likes him.

  5. yes you can compare them . IF a player was looking for a new mmo and looking at all game based on thumbnail . he will look at 14 and be like "ughhh ps3 looking game" , see new world "this look pretty" (now it not saying EVERYONE will do that for sure , and also if someone choose a game base on graphic alone , they usually get disappointed by their pick xD)

I also dont like WoW look . but wow is a game that can age well since of the "Artstyle" unlike FF 14 which have a more "realistic look" and those flaw show more on those artstyle as time goes on .

It like genshin , genshin will always look nice . w/e how much time pass . since the artstyle cant fail them . new world on the other hand … in 10 year that game will look like a ps3 game today xD

  6. I play FFXIV all the time and I love the game, but he's not wrong. I'm fine with how the graphics look, the way my character looks, the way the gear looks… but the graphics ARE really washed out, flat, and stiff looking. They don't pop. And I have no idea what the art style is. "Realistic anime" maybe? It's generic looking. It's a PS4 game with PS3 graphics, of course it's going to look dated.

Also, from what I've seen of the graphics update, it's not really going to upgrade the visuals that much. Which, again, I'm totally fine with, but it's not going to amaze and bedazzle people.

  7. It was irrelevant, comparing a 10-year-old game to a recent MMORPG with a completely different engine.

Moreover, Final Fantasy 14 could never resemble New World or FF16 for obvious reasons.

Consoles wouldn't handle it, even with optimization, as an MMORPG consumes a significant amount of resources for character rendering, equipment, and various other elements.

Even with several million dollars, they couldn't make FF14 look like FF16 because there would be tens of thousands of textures to redo.
Over the past 10 years, the asset overhaul required is massive, and even the 7.0 update will happen in multiple stages, not just in the 7.0 alone.

Furthermore, we're talking about photorealistic assets for FF16, which means the engine would need a complete overhaul to support these assets,
which are not flat and therefore contain a significant amount of polygons.
FF14's engine can't even handle more polygons on basic assets like grapes, so at this point, it would essentially require redoing the entire engine and the entire game.
    In essence, it's impossible.

In any case, even if the game had the appearance of New World or FF16, Asmongold wouldn't play it for more than two weeks.

  8. I could say with certainty that FFXIV graphics is indeed inferior…..by comparing the MMOs that came out around the time ARR 2.0 was out. Black Desert Online, Blade N Soul were the korean trending MMOs in 2012-2014, and FFXIV graphics were nowhere their level. Lost Ark came after them, so it's not really a fair comparison. But Asmon's recent takes in games has been wildly inconsistent, and it seems more that he's simply saying anything to spur his chat into an echo chamber depending on the type of people lurking in it.

The least I could say in the face of toxic WoWheads whom shit on FFXIV graphics, that the cinematic trailers from FFXIV were closer to its gameplay graphics than WoW's cinematic trailer to their counterparts. Blizzard is one of the few video game companies whom still hasn't had the balls to put gameplay footage in their trailers, despite their artstyle being superior. That's how Blizzard always managed to hype it's audience back into their terribly-managed games : By feeding a photorealistic badass trailer while serving their players with shit graphics and mediocre in-game systems(such as microtransactions).

  9. Another thing to keep in mind is that FFXIV 2.0 was effectively built in like two years. Of course they had a lot of assets and such that could be imported over from 1.0. Even then, 1.0 was in development for about six years. So, collectively, they built two MMOs in same development time Lost Ark had. But almost ten years earlier. Look at any other MMOs that came out five years on either side of it and it has both pretty good graphics and has one of the best stories compared to those other MMOs.

Of course art style is subjective. I personally don't like how Lost Ark looks, but I wouldn't blanket statement saying it looks bad. I just don't like looking at it.
