A Beginner's Quickstart Guide to Red Mage PvP | FFXIV: Endwalker 6.1

A Quick Intro to Red Mage’s PvP kit in Patch 6.1.

How I would briefly describe its role: a well-rounded duelist with offensive and defensive team support tools.

  1. It's interesting seeing this quick Red Mage guide but given how much time you've sunk into the previous PVP I imagine you'll have a full PVP overview guide in the coming weeks with your impressions after having tried out many of the modes and possibly maxed your rank depending on how hard you're going.

  2. I have no idea how anyone tells anything apart in pvp lol. I get 3 people on me and then i'm dead… and then my team die. Kinda wish it was a lil more slow-paced. Just a tad.

  3. I haven't even had a chance to try the new PVP yet because my game keeps crashing every time I try to stay in the Wolf's Den for more than 10 seconds. :D'
But even though I've only played Redmage in PVP for about an hour or two total before the update I can allready tell that a LOT has changed with your video here, dang! Very informative, though I think I'll have to watch this about 10 more times to grasp all the changes, haha. Thank you!

  4. Rdm is absolutely busted in pvp right now. The problem… everyone in ranked knows it and will focus target you.

The melee combo will absolutely delete anyone who isn't a tank. And it will scare tanks into their guard and off the objective.

  5. Had some fun with clutch magic barrier into verholy or white shift southern cross. Frazzle also really makes verflare and black shift southern cross.

While I wouldn't say being the only healer in a team comp of all DPS feels as good as having a healer; RDM is a ton of fun when played as an off-healer. It honestly feels like a traditional FF red mage; what with its balanced support and offense spells, status effects, and having melee be pretty focused on for big damage and heals.
