  1. I'd like to say in addition to RDM's Verflare/Verholy, BLM's Paradox, and BLM's polyglot spells, we will also get PCT's Subtractive Palette for Cyan/Yellow/Magenta spells, as well as Comet in Black, not going away until used.

  2. For Dancer buffs, in my experience it does apply out of line of sight. The example of the boss arena doesn't work due to a mechanic called "Aetherial Interference," that specifically doesn't let players outside an arena affect players in one.

I first encountered the mechanic while I was a sprout in the weeping city of Mhach, where i died and returned (due to being a sprout) and tried to heal my party members through the purple boss gate. The same applies to CEs in Bozja, which is why for the flare star cheese strat on solo engagements the party needs to buff the caster before they commence the fight (though that will probably change in DT, there is a patch note about buffs being removed when entering duties or changing areas).

In my admittedly limited testing so long as a player is within a reasonable range, meaning their name in the party list is lit up, the buffs will apply. It's not limited to the usual 30y like healer spells, they just need to have dance partner and be within targeting range.

  3. What happens if you kill the Ahriman in Dzemael Darkhold unsync before it can even reach the boss room? Occasionally, I'd think to try it, then I'd get distracted doing something else and forget to test it myself 😅

  4. Warrior's Nascent Chaos came up a lot for me while l was leveling. You don't get the single target upgrade until 80, so in the level 72-79 range I'd walk out of boss fights with a nice juicy chaotic cyclone

  5. In the Leap of Faith Sylphstep, when I use the Sprint ability with the movement speed buff from the blue mushrooms it feels like my speed increases considerably. Is that an exception or just placebo?

  6. I'm concerned about your speed testing only being against the Ninja passive + Peloton vs Sprint. The logic is sound, and the math checks out, but the passive may be a unique case.
The big one I always wonder about but do not have the means to test (no friends) is Peloton + Sprint vs just Sprint. It seems like it does make a difference whenever I see it in the endless alliance raid hallways, but that could be latency or whatever else.

  7. to add to the discussion of speed buffs, speed buff from Breathtaker in Eureka does not affect your sprint speed and while sprinting you are moving at the same speed as other people without it, making sprint and similar buffs the highest speed buff in the game outside of a few special cases

  8. On number 5, I actually think you’re prevented from any interaction in the fight if you die and run back. I did a run where we had a white mage die and then cast asylum into the arena somehow, but it did not grant any buff or healing even if stood in. That was my experience, anyway.

  9. there is a funny thing. you can place at some dungeon boss arenas you can place your aoe skills inside the arena like schollar's sacred soil.

It is not something you can do by all arenas but by some. like by one of the lvl 90 expert dungeons. because you still have line of sight sometimes or bearly to place something

  10. Wait re:5 and LOS requirements, now I need to test if LOS breaking in POTD breaks standard finish's buff, because that's really interesting if so. If that isn't the case, then it's special code just for the boss lockout wall.

  11. It's kind of hilarious after all of the weird and wonderful Cover testing that Castsu has done to see this show up in the "Resolved Issues" section of the 7.0 patch notes:
"An issue during the third boss battle in the criterion dungeon Another Aloalo Island wherein certain status effects applied by the boss could be transferred to a paladin using the Cover action."

  12. Masterful Blitz staying active and ready to use for 20 seconds is intentional so that if you pop it the second it comes off cooldown, you can hold it and still manage to fit it inside riddle of fire when the 60 second window comes around.

  13. I think it's really neat that you used Amurot for the Dancer test, because I had a mentor roulette last week were I had to solo the first boss on Warrior, and the Dancer ended up partnering me after the Healer and the other DPS died. I got to test this one out in the field. Was really bummed that it doesn't work, as I almost died because I kept stopping to type.

  14. I still say there are some interesting myths here since I hadn’t heard of some!

I think I would be too scared to try the pepsis thing. I think I saw a clip of a party wipe that happened because the sage pepsised early lol.

Side note: I recently had a personal myth disproven which was “Brilliant Conviction is a permanent buff.” I saw my relative accidentally turn it off during the revamped solo fight in ARR and they got demolished lol. Now I wonder jobs could do that fight without BC. Warrior?

  15. I'm fairly sure that movement debuffs stack additively. If you use NIN Hide (-50% movement speed) and open a Shisui box to transform into an old hag (-50% movement speed) you will have -100% movement speed and be unable to move at all.

  16. Ive always hated paradox remaining even if you drop the buff because it doesnt grant astral fire without already being in fire, most common way I drop the buff is by casting paradox BARELY too late

  17. And with Infuriate only giving chaos for 30 seconds, Scholar's Excogitation's duration is 45 seconds, and its cooldown is 45 seconds. I rarely ever have the buff end up expiring so it doesnt come up too often.
