Shadowbringers Ending Reaction – FFXIV 5.0 Ending Reaction

I’ve played Final Fantasy 14 for around 5-6 months now, and this ending is the best part of FFXIV I’ve ever played so I wanted to share my 5.0 ending reaction!

I honestly don’t know how they can top Shadowbringers 5.0, I know a lot of people are hyping up 5.3, but this was completely perfect for me – a great mix of emotions and one of the most epic endings to a villain I’ve ever seen!

This is a long one so feel free to use the timestamps to jump to whatever section you want to watch.

  1. I think i still prefer 'Raha in japanese (especially at 27:19, where his line actually sounds as "No… he does not stand alone!". The "we stand together" line seems torn out of page and not weaved into the whole speech, both audially (his jp voice was sounding weak from torture, but way more determined) and sentence-wise), but this whole ending ALWAYS gives the shivers. You can watch and relive it for days, over and over and it will never get old or mundane. What an ending. Good morning, crystal prince, sleep well bearer of the will of the Unsundered. We will forever remember you.

  2. Things to notice (go and re-watch it in an Inn).
The music stops, when Thancred jumps in, but we don't really notice.. When the song start again EVERYONE has that exact reaction. Even those who have seen it before.
The lines Emet says (no life left etc) are the same as the little gremlin in the trailer.
After the Hades battle, the background changes to wrecked Amaurot.
Emet's wound is reminiscent of Hauchefont's.

And yes, there's still stuff to come that will make you choke up…

  3. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. There's just something special about the end to 5.0. I love watching other people go through it and reliving it for the first time through them again and again. It's just special. I'm so glad we have it and so excited to see the story continue on.

  4. It's hard to look back at WoW Classic through Shadowlands and wonder where subscription fees went all these years compared to THIS.

The soundtrack, voice acting, dungeon and trials, all so well made in Shadowbringers I can't believe it.

  5. I'm glad I was able to watch the ending and see your reactions even though I was working at the time 🙂 I really hope you will like the remaining patches and Endwalker when it's released ❤

  6. I’d seen people say the reason Emet has the smile and the posture change was because in that moment he was released from Zodiark’s control and was his true self. I like that regardless of whether it was intended or not.

  7. Some more facts for you: G'raha just made the Duty Finder in game canon in that scene. Emet Selch is his title of office and anyone else that holds that seat in the Convocation would be called the same thing. Hades is his actual name. All the Ascians you've met similarly have two names, though the name you know them by is their title of office.

  8. Look ma! I helped Marty beat the big baddie!
But seriously, it's been such a great time following your FFXIV journey for this past 5 months. From the humble and distraction filled ARR, to the great story of HW, through the dark times of SB, and finally the breakneck pace of the amazing ShB story.
Now time to wait for you to catch up and do all the great side content you missed along the way. ❤

  9. I'm an idiot. I thought Amaraut was going to be some generic dungeon.

I ran it drunk as the tank.

    My FC laughed at me.

I still need to run it sober LOL 🤣

All I remember is the insanity of the second boss and one-shotting the final boss. I was surprised I didn't die considering how inebriated I was.

  10. Of course, I don't cry nearly as much as I did experiencing this epic-ness for the first time. However, so far now matter how many times I see it, I still cry and that itself denotes an amazing story, executed beautifully. What a wonderful thing, to witness others' journeys. ^_^ v
