Who knew a casual collab would alert so many, yet so many still defend it so valiantly.

  1. I genuinely don't think the JP devs understand latency and networking so what we describe will fall on deaf ears more often than not. For all the changes they make, we still have stuff like the caloric bug on release, and how long it took for hypercharge and blood weapon to get stacks. They seem to fix things on a per-instance basis, which is good, but without them understanding one of the core issues, I fear things won't get better overall.

  2. It's true that these things should be discussed but I also think a problem is ( and MrHappy was kinda mentioning it too ) is that often people blame the wrong thing because they don't understand what the issue is.
I can't remember exactly what it was but I remember last time they made a change to the house lottery system there was something that happened and caused a bunch of drama because of a bug.
And everyone on the forums and on reddit and twitter were going completely crazy and started being armchair coders making very bold claims about what the issue was and what was going on and it spread like wildfire.
Then the devs came out and explained exactly what had happened and that the lottery had actually worked fine and that the correct people had won and that it was something totally different than what everyone online was saying.

And everyone had just gotten upset and raged without even understanding what the issue was and saying things were issues when they weren't.
What makes it worse too is that people don't even care they just keep repeating the same thing, even after the devs come out and explain it.

If something is not actually a netcode issue tho and people are just constantly screaming about the netcode then there is a problem with how the players communicate, there's also a responsibility on the players to give proper feedback.

  3. I was sleepwalking through titan hard in 2.0 with a mid-to-low shared connection 3k miles from the servers. I think the community is just shit at games and the devs are just shit at filtering noise.
