  2. Yeah the car industry is fucked too. Worked in my favor though. I owed 7k on my vehicle. But since they can't sell new cars they are snapping up used ones. My vehicle was worth almost as much as I originally paid for it. So I sold that bitch and got myself a 2001 Miata. Paid cash, bought it out right. Now I'm sitting pretty with no car payment and a beautiful project car!

  3. I dropped off ff14 free trial because I knew I would get addicted to the game to an unhealthy degree, but it warms my heart to see that so many people are liking the game so much that the company has to apologize for it.

  4. Free trial players being able to log in only at certain times of the day is not a new thing. Paid players are always prioritized in case of queues, and it just so happens that morning and nights are the only times without queues, hence it's the only time it's possible to log in as a free trial. This has been the case since Endwalker launch.

  5. 2500 for your server but for mine it was 5.4K. Now I was surprised that Friday night (12-17-21) it was actually 2.8K. Shocked the shit out of me as I have yet to have seen that since Endwalkers begin.

  6. I remember when storm blood came out there was a main story quest that had a massive wait on when it launched. I took a day to do that one quest. It was supposed to take 5 min. They fixed it though and eventually it stopped being a problem. Too many people were trying to do it at the same time. Literally thousands of players were camping the npc trying to target it and start the quest.

  7. I'm the same as you Ruri. If I really like a product, I want to support the people who make. As in FF14, I am buying things from the mogstation shop. But it's the same with content creators. I like someone because they're doing a great job entertaining me? I might as well drop by their Patreon or leave a sub on Twitch. Same thing basicly.

  8. Worst thing about early D3? Hit regestration.
No matter how slow the swing, if that mob started swinging, you were hit.
Act 2 in nightmare was just that – nightmare. You'd need to use defensive skills to just survive a regular lamia jump if you played squishy…

  9. Yeah, the chip shortage is affecting so many industries. It is not just video games. And even though companies like Square Enix, Sony etc have a lot of money, they are small compared to the likes of the auto industry, hospitals. Those will be higher on the priority list no matter what, no matter how much angry neckbeards get mad they can't play their video games on demand. A multi million dollar company is as little and insignificant to a multi Billion dollar company as a family owned business is to the multi million dollar company.

  10. I can count the number of times I've witnessed a game company stopping sales of their product because it was too popular and they couldn't meet server demand on one finger.
Most game companies can't even be arsed to rent enough servers for the first day release rush, much less reject overtures for more money simply because selling more copies would reduce the quality of the gameplay experience for the people that already spent their money with them.

I don't like simping for big corps, but that's one of the most consumer friendly moves I've seen any triple A game dev make, period. Matched only by Satoru Iwata of Nintendo fame who actually slashed his own salary for the year to make up for losses under his leadership instead of just firing a couple hundred faceless developers and support staff to buff up the numbers.

I'm genuinely amazed that they got that past the bean counters.
