  1. It was kinda pretencious… the intro… but, whoo boy, it did make me smile non the less 😀 Plus, those tips were quite good.
    Hold my chocobo while I brrrr run some more frontlines this week >.< Wolfmarks and frustration, here I come.

  2. A simple base concept to follow when Designing aesthetics for anything is: Two-tone color plus an accent color. First though; figure out if you want sharp lines and angles or curves n hoops in the flow of your look. Then pick two main colors and a third accent color. Example: want stereotypical DRG … you'd think sharp lines n angles with blue + black n purple accents. Going from that base concept makes it pretty simple to make a couple of ur own DRG concepts in XIV (as long as you have the pieces on hand…)

    Horde all armor pieces your main job can equip from dungeons when lvling. Never know when an old piece completes a custom set. The simplicity of earlier pieces comes in handy.

  3. They forgot what is for me a huuuuge pet peeve when it comes to glamours. HAIRSTYLES AND Hair Color! —super, hyper, important. A hairstyle locks the glams to perfection, even more than truly just the colors. I'm an all-white/black type of person, but given that I contract skin and hair color? I always get complimented either way! So it is possible to stand out by simply having an overall aesthetic that is fluid from hair to toes!

  4. I can 100% say with things it's down to your characters body type + hair.
    Highkey though- I LOVE going against the grain and try to make more uncommon sets for Femroes because gosh I don't see enough diff sets or if I see a nice piece I barely see any other roes showing it off… We need more of that!

  5. I mean…the best tip would be to use reshade as vanilla has so little contrast, saturation, and personality in its lighting and color palette that you'll always look dull in the screens you take.

    As for me, I already found my forever glam. Been using plague doctor's caster coat since, and nothing was ever good enough to dethrone it from being my favorite piece of gear ever. And it goes lovingly with the latest RDM relic weapon that looks kind of like a cane so now pretty much nothing can top it anymore.

  6. I tend not to care so much about standing out as I want something that looks nice on my char. Unfortunately, my fashion sense is nil. I kinda want to work on a glamor for my dancer which I may main in Endwalker (I'm a whm now). My Miqo'te girl has red hair and blue eyes, and am having a lot of trouble deciding on colors and I don't want to go with red/white or pink. Was thinking dark green or blue but haven't been able to decide T_T;

  7. One thing that I see people ignoring A LOT in XIV is the use of colors and color blocking. People use too much black omg! Please bring some color guys! Tone, subtone, accent!

    And I totally disagree about the Roe point. The contrast is always what stand out.

  8. And for anyone that plays with NPC look-a-likes… just don't get too weird with them. Perhaps at least stick close to their color scheme (or none at all in Godbert's case XD)

  9. I still need to check our what kinds of Armour would actually be good for my Character(s).

    Since I did not only designed them to be Siblings, but also have an entire "Canonical" Backstory which does not interfere with the Game's Main Story. They have an Character(different from the WoL we play as). Which makes it kind of even harder on myself

  11. I wanna add one more thing to the "colour" advice, I was a bit sad it wasnt mentioned: Stop trying to glam the entire piece in ONE colour….Not only can it really be overkill on that ONE colour, it also isnt very unique. A lot of pieces usually feature 1 or 2 accent colours, so try and involve these accents colours on the rest of the set, sometimes it works out better than other times, but you should try. It adds a whole new dimension to your glam. You wouldnt wanna go outside dressed from head to toe in the same colour either,would you?
