NNNNOOOOOOO!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😫😫😫😫😫😫 I never even got to finish any of them cause I have classes and stuff. I'm a terrible healer and tank I dont wanna do those as a mandatory thing. They give me such anxiety and stress. 😰😨
Slight correction: in Shadowbringers there are only 4 role quests, DPS being split into physical and magical.
The 80-90 role quests are going to be split in 3 for DPS- magic, physical ranged and physical melee.
I personally think that this is going to be better in the long run for the writing staff than the traditional Job quests. Quite frankly, at this point most of them are wrapped up nicely in a neat bow and our former masters are looking at us saying "I really have nothing left to teach you. " that said, I did enjoy the level 80 capstone quests which were optional and gave out titles and let you know what's going on.
The hand and land jobs being like those of the Crystarium is also great IMHO. Again: our former mentors are pretty well done with us, and the stories in Shadowbringers drew me closer to the world of the first. I particularly liked the carpenter/ leatherworker jobs.
Having it all optional is good. I feel like you did need those job quests early on to get a feel for your job and some measure of lore dump, but at this point it is asking too much of new players to try every job. By level 60, you've probably long ago decided what jobs you like and don't like. It's much more reasonable (if you are going to flex) to try to find one of each role that you enjoy, if for no other reason than flexibility. As with Shadowbringers, I will be leveling Bard, Paladin, White Mage and Red Mage. I don't really enjoy melee very much, but once I get Samurai, Ninja and monk higher I'll be able to tell if I really want to level Dragoon this expansion or not. Frankly, I'm really enjoying Ninja.
Excited for this. I’ve enjoyed the story in ShB for the role quests. Haven’t finished them all, still leveling some jobs, but it’s been awesome thus far!
