  1. I don’t play FFXIV anymore, but I was sick in bed and watched the race. It was great and I was really cheering for echo! They almost had it! In my mind, I can only respect the groups that are streaming to make sure everything is on the up and up, an everyone has equal information to everyone else’s progress.

  2. I have to agree. This race is truly a true race. The raid dropped all at the same time, there was no "you have to wait 8 hours due to the time zone." Bs. No bug fixes, buffing the boss, neft spells, adding mechanical or adding hidden aura. 100% better than Wow. First time watching a race over 5 hours.

  3. In all honesty, i think Echo joining in the FF14 RWF has been huge for the community. I personally never cared for the RWF until i saw how big Dragonsong reprise was with WOW teams coming over to try their hand at it, and that carried me over to the next two subsequent RWF's. Its great to see how big of a production it was to cover it and made it actually feel like its getting to WOW's level of importance. Only thing i think could have been better for the community is if teams HAD to stream their POV to participate in it, but thats not on Echo or mogtalk at all.

  4. Really fun race, I was watching Lucrezia live and they were almost first a couple of hours before they actually cleared but wiped at the last second. Regardless, good job to all those who cleared and all those currently trying to clear its a great achievement in itself regardless if you're one of the first or not 🙂

  5. I was watching Kindred and Lucrezia side by side as they both cleared. I couldn't believe that Kindred cleared right before Lucrezia cleared, it was such a close race. Days of prog came down to a 9 minute difference in world first. Super happy I decided to stay awake and watch until the end.

  6. I dont think it will be anywhere near wow until theres competitors, with just echo putting in the scale of production. Happy to see this frankly. But I think the problem overall (raiding in gaming in general) is that theres not a huge incentive or value to raid in multiple games. I mean Max in liquid would be better served for his own gain doing none raiding games in between wow raids than preparing for another games raid.

  7. Always found FF races to be so much more enjoyable. No PTRs, no dungeons journals, no HUDs cluttered with addons. Have to straight figure out the fight live and the FF devs don’t need to tune the fight mid race.
