REPAINT ! Dark Knight Inspired Doll – Final Fantasy XIV Fanwork

Hello folks and friends!

This doll was made for a close friend of mine (15 years!) as part of a commission/exchange. He was been in the making for at least one year, and he’s been a very difficult doll to make, but I honestly think it’s one of my finest work so far. (I will miss this handsome edgelord when he’ll leave my doll shelf trust me!!!)

Final Fantasy XIV (14) is a MMORPG by Square Enix.

The character belongs to my friend, as it is her in-game avatar, and this is essentially fan work.

MATERIALS/SUPPLIES ;

Base doll : Jackson Jekyll – Monster High
Hair : 100% acrylic yarn, Red Heart Brand
Sealant/Primer : Mr Super Clear UV Cut Flat (face, body)
Pastels : Gallery by Mungyo Artists’ Soft Pastels / Pastel pencils by Derwent (white/black)
Watercolor pencils : Arteza
Watercolour paints : Arteza
Acrylic paints : DecoArt, Delta CeramCoat and Liquitex
Gloss varnish : Liquitex High Gloss Varnish (eyes, lips, nails)
Matte varnish : Mod Podge Matte (boots, swords, fake metal elements, horns/scales)
Aleene’s tacky glue (inside the head, to seal in the reroot)

The clay I used is called Apoxie Sculpt, it is an industrial two part air dry epoxy clay.

I also use plenty of craft foam (also called fun foam) and hot glue. (And yes, the dollar store kind.) I also used some Worbla thermoplastic, that can be activated with a heat gun (or hair dryer if hot enough).

Most fabrics I used in this creation were donations from friends and family. I used faux suede, faux leather and faux fur a plenty, and all of these were synthetic materials.

  5. Great doll, love the coat.. I make a lot of Doll clothes, usually for my BJDs and Blythes. No one fully understands the work that goes into a customization unless you do it.
I enjoy seeing my dolls after I've finished their 'updo'. I started re-doing my dolls clothes, shoes, wigs and eyes (except for shoes or boots, I make everything else.). I started when Britain went into Lockdown, I'm about halfway through lol! So, lots of projects to keep me busy.
I really enjoy your videos, I pickup ideas and how to use things. I always enjoy seeing your completed doll at the end. Brag about it, it's worth it… 🙂
