A hardcore reaper main here and while I love playing reaper in every other facet of the game, one part of the game I simply cannot play reaper is in PVP where its horribly weaker than most other classes and overall just feels terrible to play. In this video I explain why exactly I feel that is and some simple comparisons blow this wide up in terms of how obviously weaker it is.

I don't know enough about reaper in PvP to comment, but I've seen it come up in the wolves' league a few times, so at least organized parties are finding use for reaper's kit. That said, all the jobs are pretty balanced in terms of winrate based on the data released second to last live letter, but hopefully they give reaper some tweaks in the 6.2 PvP changes to make it feel better.
Wrong, reaper is probably one of the only classes that can counter lots of the pvp cheese builds/combos as well as long overtime matches

I'm a reaper main and I'll tell you right now that it does not suck. The reaper class is only as good as the player sooooo….
Apparently RPR is supposed to function as a DPS/Tank hybrid but it falls way short in the DPS department. It's good at cluching because of fear and controlling the battlefield but that's all it has going for it.
The issue with a lot of jobs in PvP is that they work better when played as teams and certain compositions and that's not really possible in solo play in CC. Partly because ppl in CC don't play as teams or they don't play to the possible skill and LB combinations, because either don't care or they don't know half of the other job skills. PLD is very strong, but if you use cover on teammates and they just ran away from you instead of using a potion…well, the job then does nothing.
RPR is similar. The crowd control and tankiness is very good to put preassure on enemies, but if your party don't know how to folllow up the LB and so on…then yeah, it sucks. If you feel DRG is better is because the most complex tactic 90% ppl does in CC is just do dmg to the same target and sometimes not even that. DRG is very good at dealing damage but does not does any other thing. If every job did just DMG then it would be quite boring is good that there's variety at least partially to skills and builds.
(For example the strongest team on Wolf's current league has a RPR)

Solid points on blm but I have to disagree on the rest definitely a flawed statement and I would suggest playing more PLD and DRG this will help you get a better gauge on RPR strength also DNC isn’t bad to understand their LB
bro the beginnings of reaper in both pvp and pve will be remembered in great detail when they are finally brought up to speed with other melee. people have been blocking rpr from pf all week. i’m literally sick to my stomach.

TL;DW reaper doesnt have easy mode one shot abilities or braindead burst so its "bad" even though its actually a really solid job just the only one that takes a braincell to play
