  1. This whole thing is just so absurd that it’s hard to be truly upset at least from my point of view as someone who is not working for Square Enix legal 😆. Zepla commented that the entire community is finally coming together to laugh and meme on a specific group that intentionally took a series of dumb as hell actions. The collective annoyance at this drama is really bringing all sides of ffxiv together.

  2. I don’t mean to sound like this but I’m totally going to sound like this— ERPers ruin everything they get their sticky hands on. Like bro flist exists for a reason just pls stop

  3. I never got the whole ERP thing if that’s your thing that’s fine but that’s not why I play the game this billboard Fiasco Is just going to hurt the community as a whole and hurt the game as a whole

  4. I'd suggest that FFXIV go the way of Wizard101 and set up a Test Realm that would show off the content so players can have fun with it before the content went live… only to remember that FFXIV is Japanese and the test realm would only be accessible to Japanese people. 🙁

This is why I go trophy hunting during the dead times.

  5. So here is the issue. The discord they posted in their advertisement is heavily commercialized ERP. So anyone seeing that can go onto their discord and be subjected to seeing that. SE can sue them for damages since the billboard did not have consent to use the ffxiv assets. As they say play a stupid game win stupid prizes. That is why there is drama

  6. "I didn't hear that question, could you ask the next one please?" lol I love this game so much. I wanted to make and sell hearthstone-themed soap back when I played WoW, but I was honestly afraid of Activision's lawyers XD

  7. Sometimes witchhunts are justified, especially if some fellas who think they can slap datamined outfits and modded poses and characters on a billboard together with the SE trademark. Many of the XIV sub communities rely on certain not game breaking mods, like gposers use screenshot tools, raiders and guide makers use damage meters, housing people use stuff to glitch their houses so they can make these really cool looking places and roleplayers rely on certain chat addons too cause lets be honest the XIV chat is a mess that never got changed and has so many flaws. Also certain disabled (colorblind) people rely on certain tools cause the colorblind mode in XIV is kinda trashy.

So if they try to fork all these people over by throwing their degeneracy out there for all the world to see and in the end all the other people get also punished they can be sure that the XIV community will never forget who opened pandoras box. And they can be sure that we will buy their plot after their club got demolished to build a beautiful billboard on there in their honor.

  8. This reminds me of how lax copyright enforcement seems to be in Mexico. Pikachu and Marvel themed snacks and billboards going on at restaurants and stuff. Maybe they should have put their billboard up in Mexico?

  9. I have a hard time having sympathy just because it's like, how many warnings do we have to get. Copyright issues and stuff aside, there was just the World First add-on fiasco, and now these people thought it was a good idea to post their information along with modded/datamined content on an unauthorized, literal biklboard for the world to see. Even if they didn't think it was a legal issue, TOS people! When Yoshida said "We can't see what's on your personal computer" he was straight up telling us they're trying to avoid banning certain things but this kind of stuff is exactly why rules get so strict and you can't do fun stuff in most games, because people like this don't think before they act.

  10. Balmung server is blocking the place so people can't get in the server when they try to data center visit. Not sure if it's too keep people from going to this thing or to keep people from getting involved in their server. Lol. My son's and I left Balmung in 2020 to malboro with xp benefits so…I only travel there to check market board prices. You never know what you will see there but they used to have great gatherings of fun dances and such though… Besides the other stuff that we ignored until we got to move.

  11. How I feel is that I'm not going to tell the servers or gamers not to do something.. But I don't want to see it . So I won't look. But I don't want people who know I love this game but know nothing about it to think that's how I roll personally because that's not my Lifestyle. So I'm hoping that it won't reflect poorly on the game and the gamers as a whole and FFXIV community to have the things they advertised on that billboard. It's like wow ,the moon guard server and their Inn. We don't talk about it. Lol

  12. By the way Chris I'm so glad you're going through the old content that you missed. Have you finished ARR post patches? Like the"ending" that leads into heavens Ward? I felt that this is when the stories got really good.. and that I can't wait to see how you feel about heaven's ward.
