FFXIV Lore- A World made of Dynamis and its brand new Life Forms!

Dynamis has and continues to be a weird topic for FFXIV, so lets explore what new developments have been made in the 6.25 Beast Tribe Quest chain to expand on what we know and what new things that might entail. Lets gather around and ask some questions!

  1. I'm not gonna lie once I figured that the gathering beast tribe was gonna involve Dynamis and the various residents of Ultima Thul I was excited the idea of bringing the fallen into despair of Ultima Thul and give them hope and seeing the dragon part of the quest was just… Icing on the cake… And seeing the Dragonstar landscape made me happy… Bizarre Dynamis Dragons deserve hope just as much as the dragons of our star have…

  2. There's a single question in my mind. What happened to all of the aether that made up the souls of those that the Endsinger killed? From what I recall, Y'Shtola said that it was as if their aether was just gone*, so what *happened? The closest that I have to a theory is that the souls (possibly the memories from their aether) were taken by the Endsinger and are a critical component for creating both this new life and also the simulations that we see.

Though I should point out that this is little more than speculation

  3. There's a lot of information given by the omicrons in the quests stating chemical composition and microscopic life like bacteria and diatoms of algae. I think, dynamis must just be a different form of magical energy that can be used with sheer emotion. I doubt the people from prior civilizations are made up of dynamis, and more likely are made up of matter that was arranged using dynamis

  4. I absolutely love the Miw Miisv and I'm loving the story so far. With Elysion for some reason I keep getting Omphalos vibes from it, I think it's from the way the island becomes more structured.

  5. I was kinda hoping to see the residents of The Plenty again to see how they would handle being brought back to life after willingly choosing to die, but I like these little Mew Miivs and what they bring to the table.

As I was typing this I had a thought: Does the creation of dynamis-based life mean that there is a new dynamis-based lifestream? Is the Dead Ends now the Mothercrystal's dynamis equivalent?

  6. I think whenever a new star is born in ff14 it starts out as dynamis but then it turns into Acer ( don't know how to spell it this is close enough ) but then converted back into dynamis mostly despair dynamis and then cycle continues it's the closest thing to a star cycle I guess

  7. I feel like you're too quick to discount the important of dynamis going forward in the MSQ. I'm expecting it will play a role in this void saga we're in by the end, and possibly beyond as it is needed. Furthermore, I think it's pretty clear that we have been using dynamis unconsciously throughout the story, so it didn't seem like the asspull you're making it out to be.

  8. I love the new Tribal questline story! Dynamis is so concentrated in Ultima Thule that I believe life would have formed there with or without our help! Meteion's song of hope, I believe, was pure Dynamis! To me it looks like new planets made from Dynamis are forming from the ruined husks of the Aether planets in Ultima Thule! I want to know what the blue orb is that formed before we fought The Endsinger! Do the Newmees (Miw Miisv) have a soul & when they die do they go into a Dynamis Life stream? We see in the new Omicron Tribal quests that we are trying to harbor Hope but what happens if someone gets really angry at the Last Dregs! I love the new areas & the story! I hope they expand on it further! I really would like a new job(s) that use Dynamis completely! we shall see! Here is to HOPING that it will be a Bright Future! Great video, keep up the great work! 😉

  9. So many things to think about.

I wonder how organic terminus beasts/blasphemies are. Did their aether get converted to dynamis or was it overwritten? How similar are Termies to the dynamis beings of ultima thule?

I wonder if the reason the enemies of ultima thule only drop crystals is because they are not very dynamis dense. If aether in its condensed form is crystals maybe if they were more dynamis dense they’d have more solid bodies. That might be kinda reductionist seeing as we don’t know how similar dynamis is to aether. Can one exist without the other? Is dynamis capable of being base building blocks? We just don’t know.

  10. We actually have heard of Dynamis-centered worlds before, though not ones composed entirely of it! In Tales from the Dawn, "A Question of Life," we learned that there was a sentient planet that could manipulate dynamis, and another world whose aetherial sea was, actually a dynamis sea composed of volatile memories. I don't know how they relate to Elysion, but there is much that dynamis seems to impact on many planets that are not aether-rich! It was noted that our bluebird was in fact even attracted to planets more affected by dynamis, so there is much to learn!

  11. I thought that Dynamis was referenced in the original Omega raid quest line. I think Cid referred to it as "heart" or emotions or something lol, the WoL and his companion are able to overcome odds that they statistically shouldn't because of their willpower, which we now know is influenced by Dynamis.

  12. The Nature of Dynamis, it being a result of the psyche instantly makes me think of the immaterium. And All you need is the right emotions to create the four Jerks who live in such a place.

  13. The dynamis story came out of nowhere literally and had absolutely 0 connection to anything driving the story from 1.0. I like they kept it final fantasy, but this wasn't story linked with anything besides the characters we already knew. It felt like they built up a story that could be filled with any ending and chose an easy way out. Great for SE business, but really "meh" for anyone not impressed by sun dogs. It was an ending to a good story, not a good one, just one.

  14. I wouldn't dismiss the pre-retcon examples of possible dynamis like the one from DNC quests. It has been said that dynamis has been misunderstood as aether after all. The devs could easily confirm that it was indeed dynamis later without chaning anything of thr lore.

  15. What is interresting is that new specie developped very rapidly, it's already a relatively advanced lifeform (as in: it's not a single bacteria).
So who knows in a few decades once they evolve until a full fledged civilization that interracts with Etherys on a regular basis ?
