  1. EW relics may look nice, and even better than my other relics but I feel no connection to those weapons. I get them with tome leftovers. That's sad. So I just glam over them with previous relic weapons I feel good about without any remorse.

  2. To be honest, the only reason I log on now, is because I have an obligation to my raid group. As soon as raid is over, I'm out. It takes everything I have to not skip all of the story when a patch comes out, because I already know where they are going with it. And after 5 years of playing, I'm looking at other MMO's (I'm bored), and my husband officially stopped subbing all together about 3 patches ago. XIV was our home, that's where we met most of our friends, but once we got done with EW, once everything became "only logging on for business", it just got…mah.

  3. i think if people complain that content are getting finished too quickly they will gate gear harder (through weeklies) so you cannot progress for a while. that's pretty much what all MMO do , rather than adding more content

  4. I came to FFXiV after WoW shadowlands bombed pretty hard. Honestly, I havent played much since Wrath on and off in spurts over the expansions. (I played Wildstar from beta to shutdown.) I think a lot of has to do with is conclusion to the main story, much like wrath's main conclusion was with Arthas. For most the game and story ended with him, and it seems like it's happening here. The story of Hydalyn is finished and for most, i think thats where their journey ends.

I loved EW, mostly because ff4 is my second favorite in the series, FFT only beats it for me.

  5. The patches have been really poor and haven't held my attention enough. Patch cadence has been far to slow. At the moment have gone back to wow because it's lacking soul.
Also the MSQ been kinda dull and so mid. Not the same as Shadowbringers & Heavensward which where excellent

  6. Honestly for me, post patches have always been a sluggish process. It always took me more time to get through X.1 to X.55 than anything. I so wish we could skip them when making new characters.

  7. I 100% agree with her. The post expansion content has been extremely mid. I hate the tomestone relics, there's no push to do anything out of the usual and it doesn't feel like I earned my relics, I have no attachment or sense of achievement or satisfaction, literally the second it drops, you already can just buy it if you just did dailies sometimes.

And the job homogenization is so real, like it was kind of an issue in ShB but now, most jobs feel so similar, everything but BLM just feels like big burst dump everything as fast as possible, do something basic forever, tiny burst, do something basic forever, big burst dump again, if you die, lag, drift your cooldown, F your drag b***h, sad day for you because most jobs don't have a good way to fix your screw up anymore. Everything is just very samey and meh, I'll do it, it's not bad but it's not exciting and there's nothing to work toward because of the tomestone relics.

100% agree about the post expansion story too, the characters are cool, I like Zero but the actual story and antagonists have been bad and forced. And I couldn't put my finger on why it felt like less content but fully, they made the side story the MSQ. It's not good.
The raids I enjoy, I still don't understand the design for the last boss, felt like it did not match at all with all the other raid bosses but they're fun to play.

  8. "Bozja is really dead and Eureka really hard to get into" – I think you just answered yourself why there is no such content in Endwalker. In my opinion is fine to not have it, no need for stupidly grindy stuff, there is already enough things to do in the game overall and is perfectly fine to stay away and come back fron time to time

  9. So my take on it's just that they needed to focus on FF16, so they sorta made Endwalker relatively pared down and easy to work with while they could get 16 done. Not saying that it was the right thing to do to keep retention, but from what I get most of the big FF14 devs worked on 16, so it's definitely not laziness. I want to ay that Yoshida has a lot of faith in Dawntrail, and all effort's being put into that

And also because it's Manderville and all of the Hildibrand stuff is goofy,I could be wrong but the last step of the relic is going to be something ridiculous. Like it'll be 4500 Tomes, but then the last step will be like "you gotta do Eureka, Bozja, farm eighty dungeons for 2000 flowers, find Hildibrand's glasses which he dropped 1/100 chance by doing random Fates in every EW zone" etc etc

  10. I wonder how are they going to keep us interested and engaged now that the main story is over? No hydaelyn, zodiark or ascians.. we are the strongest being in the universe right now, we have defeated gods! There is no way that 2 headed lizard in the trailer its giving us a real challenge, unless we lost our powers or something like that..?

  11. I only started this year really playing ffxiv, so my opinion may not be super valid.
But I think the complain about content drought as a content creator or hardcore player is not working well.
Because the standard player can't spend that much time or effort to clear a new raid or other content to have it done within a few days of release.
Also I think the idea to put the current Relics at the end of the super long Hildibrand quest line was a good idea, because otherwise I would have done this quest line basically only for the achievements or that I don't have one open quest mark on my map. So this "easy" way of getting those relics is kinda a reward for me to put this duration into this quest line.
Also earning 6000 tomestones for the 4th stage of a single weapon isn't done that quick like she displays it. Sure it's a kinda repetitive kind of grind, but I guess that's it for all the relics of all the expansions.
Island sanctuary… Yes that may be lacking some excitement for me because I probably won't be doing much there as soon as I reach max lvl. But I like the idea of it. And I guess for people who don't own a house this is an excellent alternative to use some of the furniture.

  12. They concluded the story in my opinion. Anything that follows just doesn’t feel like it will live up to shadow bringers and endwalker. The pantheon should have been the next conflict. We fought the closest thing to a god at the end of the universe. the pantheon of gods is the only thing that feels like it should be the next big baddy. There hasn’t been a hint of demonic force or evil version to the pantheon. I mean why are we going to an island. At this point we are litterally god tier in terms of power. What’s there to start the next world on the edge of destruction event. I haven’t played in months. I literally log on sit there for a second and I’m like I really don’t feel like grinding tomes and no one is on. waiting forever for dps ques is just old at this point. I’ve got tanks and healers but I play monk on one character and reaper on another. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I don’t know at this point. A new game and restarting would just make more sense.

  13. as far as post MSQ being predictable is concerned… thats not such a huge issue to me. most the post quests of other expacs were super predictable as well, doesnt necessarily mean its bad. my gripes is the relic grind, i wish we got another bozja like area. tome grind is boring af. also the dungeons getting easier and easier and more braindead. the most recent dungeon isnt too bad but the rest were a snoozefest ive legit fell asleep at my keyboard doing them.

  14. Honestly, many of the points she makes are valid, but there is an undeniable aura of clickbait, needless overdramatization and buzzword usage that honestly makes it hard to listen to her at times / take her seriously.

The worst part is that she then tries to shift the blame onto the player base, saying they "cant take criticism" and such to justify the inevitable dislikes in advance, when in reality the problem is more likely just the way she has chosen to deliver these criticisms (An intentional decision by her, for the purpose of gaining views and traction I would expect, such is the nature of our culture).

Its a good discussion to have, but I don't think she should be the one laying the foundations for it when there is clearly an ulterior motive at play, as well as a lot of personal bias and subjective opinions being presented as the objective reality.

  15. As I said in the comments on Zeplas video, they should have tied the first relic to tomestones and then the second and third to the variant dungeons and island sanctuary but not hildibrand.

  16. I believe that the core design of the game has shifted away from the hardcore WoW clone into its own thing. Players aren't "forced" to stay on-top every patch – they can just do the content 2 years laters if they wanted to, you aren't locked out. I believe the people who are burnt out or say its lacking in content are the ones who grind this game 8-12 hours a day. It's not the lack of content, its people wanting a reason to do the content over and over and over again and the game doesn't intensive that anymore, as the game strays away from grinding more and more.

I get to play this game around 8-20 hours a WEEK, and I've got content for years to come. One relic takes 2-3 months to get for me, it's an amazing feeling no other game gives me – I dread grinding ALL relics in the same amount of time. Been playing since Heavensward btw.

They are still releasing the same amount of Dungeons, Trails, Raids and even more Ultimates and the new Variant Dungeons, Sanctuary island – whilst reducing the grind. The content is not less, it's the incentive to do it again and again and again. A lot of content is "one and done" nowadays. Which I think translates into burn out for people trying to grind a non-grindy game.
