  1. Hoo boy. We're almost there. Cannot wait for the next video.

Yeah, Thavnair is an absolute adrenaline rush of sadness. Killing Matsya and the baby would have put it over the edge, so I'm glad they went as far as they did without just taking it to places too dark with no hope or reprieve.

  2. During this arc, I really like the part where they chant their believes together. Not a religious person but that felt really good on how they work together to bring peace to their heart.

  3. Remember though, you've already seen that black mist in a previous cutscene in Ala Mhigo and Ishgard 😉
And if it makes you feel any better running after them before getting your book out… I had a bow and arrow on me 😪 haha

  4. Man, this is G'raha's THIRD apocalypse. Waking up and living through the 8th umbral calamity, and then transported to a world on the brink where he had to take the role of leadership for 100 years… all of those experiences made him the best at handling these kind of situations…
This whole section had me STRESSED!

  5. Seriously… this expansion….. man i feel bad to call this game an expansion to be honest, but the story is so brutal at times, i'm still amazed of how this game can bring me joy, happiness, and the most crushing hit to my heart and soul.

  6. That Matsya scene was STRESS 😂, after turning a mans son into a monster only to be killed as a monster infront of him, Shows they are not going to hold back, so that moment could of gone so wrong so fast

  7. Even having been through it already, and knowing what happens, this whole sequence still gets to me. The back and forth with Matsya was the worst of it.

Side note. If you two get separated and wish to be in the same instance together right click on the aetheryte. The last option will allow you to change to any of the instances.

  8. The part with Matsya and the baby made me cry so hard I logged out lmao. A beautiful eucatastrophe with Estinien, but wow. I can't imagine what it would be like to watch this as a mom. Great storytelling 12/10 lol

  9. That part with Matsya and the baby was one of the most tense I've ever felt in this expansion, luckily Vrtra and Estinien came to help! and Dad Vrtra finally revealed himself to his people, couldn't help but smile there <3

  10. The only time I think we got to go to a feast was in ARR where we had to do all the prep work 😆And everyone complained about it, so I think the devs just said 'ok, no more feasts'

  11. Someone else probably answered this down below, but I assumed the limb in the Tower of Zot was probably one of the emperor's limbs. Like, since Anima was made from the emperor's corpse, and the towers were functioning as an extension of Anima, it would make sense that if there was a limb in there it would likely have been one of the Emperor's- in order to link the tower back to Anima. Which honestly just makes the whole thing even darker, as it means that Zenos and Fandaniel not only used the Emperor's corpse to summon anima, but they dismembered him and spread pieces of him around the globe before doing so.

  12. Varis was pre much chopped in pieces, each part is what's inside those machines on top of the towers so Anima/Varis can have wider range of influence almost similar to a cell tower/ cell site.

  13. This part of the story was so perfect in so many ways. I personally found the beginning a bit boring up to that point, to be honest. Sure, they had to build the story and give us background, but it was a bit boring, at least for me. Here comes the absolute turning point. We see the horror and experience it. And this experience was insanely intense. So I felt really stressed in front of my computer and you have to do that with a story first. Hats off.

  14. I was screaming and flailing left and right at the scenes – From the Satrapt Ahewann dying, Matsya's friends perishing trying to save their child and Matsya praying for dear lfe and the life of the baby he's trying to save. When that cutscene coming up, I was yelling at the screen: ''I FORBID YOU TO DIE!'

Gods Thavnair phase 2 and Garlemald was the highlight of this expansion.

  15. Writers did an excellent job of conveying hopelessness and despair. And not to mention the music heighten the scene even more. Storytelling in FF14 has elevated so high for MMORPG, i don't think anybody else will ever be able to even remotely match it.

  16. Not sure if you notice the monster designs in this but some of them still retain their elephant trunks and tusk, you can really see it from the back from the ones who attack Matsya. It's so twisted >n<

  17. 15:31 — Just in case there was anybody out there who forgot there's two souls in there, one of whom was the only real bulwark against death and despair for his people for 100 years. What a moment! Glorious!!! Raha, catboy of my heart, haha <3
