Alas, most of these are things I already knew or don't find useful. I had no idea about players being able to over-repair gear, though!! I finally know WHY players can do repairs…
But the one that's actually useful for me is the three macros to access hotbars with class macros. I've had class-specific macros to change gear and apply glam plates for years now, but never heard of that setup. i just have them all grouped based on role across two different hotbars. Based.
Also, blessed inaugural patron roll! And the outro is as excellent as always!
Ff14 base ui is so customizable, blows my mind that people still ise ui mods in the game
what???? i had no idea about compact view for job actions. ive been playing for years. what the heck. that makes so much more sense. my mind is blown.
literally yesterday i was looking for the subcommands setting on google and assumed it was something I heard about a plugin doing because I couldn't find anyone talking about it online. ty man
2:40 — Another thing about the C people: to repear all your gear, you need have your crafters only up to 10 levels below your current gear. Downside however, you have to have all your crafters leveled up to repair each gear piece: Goldsmith for jewelry, Leatherworker for pants, Smith for your sword and so on, Carpenter for your spear, and so on ๐
The lala chair – never gets old XD XD XD I have one in my house to allow lalas to actually see whats on the table ๐
for controller users i recommend looking up squintina if you want a similar job switching setup for yourself as she's come up with macros that allow for the switching to be exclusive to only a single hotbar
Obligatory engagement comment, gm :3
Okay, I did NOT know that Repairing your own gear *doubled durability*. Hoooooly crap, All that time levelling to Omnicrafter is finally WORTH something!
Cool
I still don't know how you make those empty hotbar spots (the ones you don't put any skill in) completely disappear, instead of appearing as an empty block.
As a PS4 player, I've struggled with finding the equivalent of the Ctrl+Arrows adjustement online a few times. Thanks so much for that last menu!
Putting your gear in the main inventory is just bad if you do any crafting/gathering. It will fill up too fast for normsl use.
Otherwise, great video! I knew most of these because im a settings nerd, but I know too well how uncommon that is.
Someone probably already said, but the inventory interface shows you when something is ready to be extracted when it goes white rather than checking the extraction menu all the time
I'm definitely stealing that job hotbar idea.
The camera height adjustment is great, I like to keep mine pretty high during hard content, but during easy content I like to see my WoL being badass.
Lol, i'm such a shy person that i'm complelety forgot about the existence of the contact list. Thanks for the helpful video for new sprouts to the game <333
0:57 HYDAELYN, MEND YOUR SHIT, I'VE NEVER SEEN SO MUCH RED IN MY LIFE
Those who leave without me giving out commendations, I give it to the last person who still is around. I gave one to a dps because the tank and healer left in a rapid hurry. Also the macros does help clean up the clutter on your screen by hiding them when not in use.
Thanks I'll now show this to my inefficient friend
Bruh I think that up/down camera angle adjustment is about to save my lalafell life- thanks for another good vid!
I wanna add something on the topic of maps and quests.
The quest list you have on the ui, if you click on the yellow text it opens the journal, if you click on the blue text it opens the map with a marker on the quest location.
You will never have to go into the journal to click on the map button ever again.
5:00 but did you know, you can even drag crafting recipes?
Dude, dont think you should have added the macro in the description or comments? xD
I am well acquainted with the contact list. My favorite menu to go to after doing Barbariccia farm to blacklist half the party.
4:55 found this out a few months ago.
FOR THE CRAFTERS !!!:
You can drag/drop recipe icons onto your hotbar too, if there's something you massproduce, this might be a small QoL for ya. ๐
Holy shit I want the job switching macro but with a controller. That looks really nice
Learned that item hand-in thing entirely by accident. Seriously stopped and yelled at the screen, "I could of done that this entire time?!" Now I'm the dude that has it macroed into party chat everytime I get into a group with a sprout. The must all know the truth!
Holy crap this is SO useful.
Coming back now to add those job-swap macros here in the comments!
Very simply, they're just:
/hotbar display 5
/hotbar display 6off
/hotbar display 7 off
/hotbar display 8 off
/wait 5
/hotbar display 5 off
Obviously, swap out the numbers as suits your case.
Alternatively, if you want a "better" version that relies on class bars and is more space efficient, Alluneve Wynn wrote a much longer form version in the Delinquent Art Club discord that you could learn from. ๐

ahem…
nope, nothing to see here.
ah yes the sumpreme dropbox macro, haven't been able to play without it for so long now. get rid of the clutter ! actually forgot about the materia extract in general hahah, keep it up specstre! O7
In terms of the Questing and map stuff, you can also click on the blue words and it will also show on the map where you need to go. Not the name of the quest, the actual objective in blue.
Great stuff man!
